Awesome! These are great.
These are great!Feel confident in taking a drink of water from that puddle. 🙂 Small, convenient, gets you a drink of water safely. Does not have ability to screw onto a bottle or water bladder so you can squeeze clean water out for cooking. But if your water source is clear enough you can just boil it. Also if you have a bottle or bladder you carry while you are on the move then you can stick the pen in and take a drink. Price is right so you can buy a few packs and have them stashed in all you key areas and vehicles.

Could be a life changer
Disasters happen. I used to live in Florida, trust me, I know. What a simple device. It is so easy to use and lasts a year. Disasters, hiking, camping, etc. Who wouldnât want clean drinking water? Worth every penny!

This was either going to be a 1 or 5 star review. With a water filter, there is no middle ground.
I like these little mini-filters. A famous brand name, also available on this site, is the gold standard in this field. However, they usually cost about 1/3 more money than this product and are bulkier. When I saw these, I decided to try them.I’ll be straight. When these filters came in, I hesitated to use them. I’ve had dysentery several times. It’s not fun. However, how could I give an honest review without using one of these as intended? Readers and customers need to know if these work; they are intended for emergencies, and unreliable equipment is the last thing you need in a bad situation. Therefore, I tested this filter on known bad water. First, let me tell you about features I liked about this filter, independent of its filtering capacity.I really like its size, the marker-style cap that covers the mouthpiece, and its simplicity of operation. You can see the instructions in one of my pictures; this device is straightforward. But did it work? I didn’t want to stick this filter into a gross cup of water and take a big mouthful on a leap of faith. I thought of a workaround that allowed me to pump the water into a glass to look at it before I took a mouthful. See my pics. I show the murky water I tested (from an unreliable well), the famous discount retailer siphon pump I attached to the Joypur filter, and the resulting treated water. The siphon rig worked great. It sealed tightly, and it pumped quickly and efficiently. You might want to consider a siphon arrangement like this as part of this filtration systemâit would be a great way of pumping water from a ditch or creek. If you go this route, do like me and clean out the siphon first with very hot water to eliminate any factory residue. It was time to test. I pumped water from an old, uncased well. It is unsafe, cloudy, and tastes terrible. See the picture of untreated water. An important note: the “cleaner” the water you filter, the better. Heavy particulates shorten the filter’s life. I had a sample. I placed the Joypur, attached to the siphon pump, into the sample and pumped. The siphon discharged water into a separate cup. See the pic. There was a dramatic difference in appearance; the filtered water was crystal clear, with no “floaties.” So far, so good.It was time to drink. I drank the filtered water. It still tasted like well water, but it wasn’t terrible. A simple filter like this can only do so much; don’t expect a store-bought water taste from this device. But the important part of the test required waiting. Would I get sick? I knew that if I ingested harmful organisms, I wouldn’t have to wait long. I’ve drank bad water before, to my regret. The “1-star” or “5-star” part comes in here. This filter works and keeps you from being ill, or it does not. I am pleased to report that a day has passed, and I am not sick. I drank more than enough to make me sick if the treated water was contaminated; this must not be the case. Therefore, this is a five-star product! It works as intended and is handy and easy to use. Recommend.

Great for back ups
I keep these in our vehicles. We have get him bags that have bare essentials in them (knife, protein bar, mylar blanket, rain poncho…that sort of thing), and we keep at least one of these in those bags at all times. This should suffice for most situations where you just need a drink of water to not get dehydrated. I don’t know if they will filter out all contaminants, but they are better than having nothing at all. Get a few of them, put them in your vehicle, in your EDC bag, backpacks, etc. You never know when you’ll need water.
