The Verilux HappyLight Lucent, and I seriously could not be happier! It has totally transformed my workspace and has been the only thing to really brighten up my day and mood on those dreary days or in the winter. The 10,000 Lux brightness is just right â you can be in direct sunlight without the harmful UV rays. It emits gentle LED lighting and is convenient to adjust so that I easily get it aligned in the perfect position on my desk or nightstand.So coumfortable the one touch operation. All you do is tap it for on and off (love it), and there is no fuss getting things set up. The first few days using it 20â30 mins first thing in the morning and I found a definite change in the daily energy and cognitive levels.And hey, the compact design is a nice addition too; it never takes away space, whilst remaining solid and sexy. If you are looking for an effective, easy-to-use light therapy solution that actually works, I suggest the Verilux HappyLight Lucent.

I thought for sure this was going to be a gimmick. When I use it I actually notice a difference In my mood and energy especially for the winter months. Iâve recommended to family and friends that suffer with seasonal depression. Using in the morning while doing makeup or just waking up in bed super easy to implement into the morning routine. Super bright! I noticed it I left it on for more than an hour id get a bit jittery so Iâd only do the recommended hour.

Great product. Large and puts out a great light.No complaints. I use it in the morning while reading. About 10 to 15 minutes.It’s an early anniversary present bc I didn’t want to wait one extra day to use it.Like it so well that I bought one for my sister as an early Christmas present. She likes hers as well.Great price and came packaged very safely.

Great light, pitiful electrical cord
I bought my first SAD light about 12 years ago and this one is my third purchase so far. I love that it is LED and the bulbs won’t dim, over the years, like my first light had. I was worried it would be too small but I find it actually practically perfect to move around and take with me wherever I am working. It really does have a fantastic super bright light, but not nauseating (again, my first light was sickly bright it’s first year). I give this purchase five stars on everything except the plug-in cord which seems like an afterthought. The cord is very flimsy and super thin. Even if I didn’t have cats that would think it a piece of yarn and chew right through it I’d still be worried about how it is going to stand up to any wear and tear. I’m assuming I will be able to buy a replacement cord because I highly doubt it will last the 12+ years like my other lamp cords have done so far, but they are the normal standard cord thickness like you see on a lamp or other normal things you plug in or keep plugged in for daily use. This cord seems like they designed it to be used on a one-off, like a camping trip or something not under daily use. After I use the light I unplug the flimsy cord and place it delicately inside a small cardboard box for safe keeping until the next day which is really not ideal but I do like the light enough to go the extra mile and take care of it very intentionally. The light is fantastic, the brightness is exactly what I was looking for as I struggle with SAD and find these lights make such a huge improvement for me. The cord needs to be re-designed—and I’d love a free replacement when that happens! I am positive I can’t be the only one that found the cord beneath the product. Thanks for making a great light, now make a great cord to go with it!!!!

Brightens away SAD, poor intuitive design
Should charge but only works plugged in. Haven’t figured out how it stands on its own so I prop it against other things. Very bright abd is effective to stave off SAD but functions leave something to be desired

Not even kidding, thing thing has changed my life.I grew up in Southern California and moved to Eastern Canada 6 years ago. For the past couple of years I’ve been noticing low energy and just overall sadness that would come over me in the winters and I figured it was just the crappy Quebec weather. I then started hearing about Seasonal Affective Disorder a few years back, but didn’t think that I had it. Low and behold, the sadness this year got really terrible (and I am a generally happy person), so I decided to get this light (I’ve heard about these types of lights before) just for the reason that I wanted to get better and wanted to try the light therapy method. I have a background in psychology and I am always extremely skeptical about products that are meant to help and whether the placebo effect goes into play. So I try my best to stay as objective as possible and kind of expect things to not work and then see what happens. Well, this light is incredible. The first morning that I had it, I put it on right after waking up and I gave it 20 min, but it actually annoyed me, so I figured it won’t work, but I’ll entertain the idea and give it a go at the office. Game changer. I put it on as directed at 10 or 2 at the proper distance from the face for 30 min and actually found it really, very pleasant (but fyi, it is very bright). I then turned it off, and a funny thing started to happen, I started to miss it being on!! I was very surprised. When I put it back on, it was overly stimulating at the 10 or 2 position, but I really wanted it on, so I put it behind me (a foot behind me at about an 8 or 4 position if looking at a clock and 12 being my computer screen). It was amazing. I left it on for 6-8 hours and I couldn’t go without it for a week. Now I use it when I feel I need it, so maybe 2-3 hours some days, some more, some not at all. We have had very little sunshine this winter and I recommend to anyone that is even remotely entertaining the thought to try a lamp like this to not even hesitate. It’s amazing!!! And this one is the size of a tablet, so it fits anywhere and very light to carry, not flimsy or fragile at all, well built.

This has made a huge difference in my daughterâs life! She is studying ballet/ dance full time in the UKâ¦The dreary weather difference of England from where she is from in America( and the fact that she walked to the school before light, no windows in studios, and walked home after 5pm in the winter) was getting her down. As soon as I got this for her( she used it while she puts on her makeup and eats her breakfast) she felt SO much better- happier and energetic! ððð»âï¸

I received some old family tapes. This unit allowed me to hear those old tapes, but also listen to spoken audios made by family members from back in the 1970âs. One great feature, and the main reason for selecting this device was its ability to convert tapes to a digital format on a micro SD card. From there I can easily put that digital format over to a USB Thumb Drive. I would recommend this product to others. It is a well made and well engineered unit.

The light that comes from the Verilux Lucent happy light is bright and effective. 2 things they could improve: The clip that holds up the light definitely needs to be more stable, so they should put some work into that. Also would be nice to have a cordless light to use anywhere and be independent of a light socket.
