Fantastic engineering and construction makes this a value
I just cannot get over how well this works. Very well thought out design. Itâs vibrationally isolated on 3, possibly 4 levels so itâs quiet and doesnât drive a lot of energy into the countertop.Simple operation. Huge power. Over-specâed and overbuilt. Thick power cable.I use a blender about daily and have gone through several others over the years. This is so remarkably superior.I also bought the stainless carafe and love it

Vitamix has proven it’s worth
2nd Update: Initially was very ticked with customer service for taking so long to get to me. After placing a call and waiting on hold for 30 min I have to say it was worth the wait. They supplied a label for shipping all I had to do was deliver to my local ‘Goin Postal’ who packed and shipped it. It was mailed 7 Feb. They provided tracking and it was received by Vitamix on 11 Feb and returned to me repaired on 15 Feb. They replaced the pitcher with a new one and it looks like they replaced the sprocket on the base as well. So far so good, havent mixed anything ‘thick’ yet but was very impressed by the turnaround time and ease of returning the product under warranty with no cost to me other than the time involved.Update: 4 Feb 2025..Finally called Vitamix instead of messing around with the countless emails. Spent 30 minutes on hold before reaching a customer service rep. Had to go thru all the same things I went thru with the email correspondence but eventually got around to them sending me a return shipping label so that I could return it be checked out. I will update my review when resolved. I was told it would take about 10-14 days for turnaround. Mailed on 2/7/2025.Feb 2025: I bought my Vitamix in 2019 and it worked just fine with occasional use for smoothies, humus and soups. Recently it has started to grind in high speed. Understanding it has a 10 year warranty I contacted the company on Jan 19, 2025. It’s now Feb 3 and I still dont have any resolution. I’ve been asked multiple times for information and each time I send info it takes another week for them to get back to me. Really disappointed in their customer service.

Horrible and flimsy lid design and really cheap plastic food container
I sent this back before even using. I own several older blenders that both cost under $150, and the lid design on both are FAR superior to this one. This one has a “snap-on” design, and directions say to push down on lid until lid flaps “lock into place”. The lid itself, and especially the flaps are flimsy (made out of what feels like a light weight, cheap, thin, somewhat hard and inflexible rubber that has no strength to it and feels like it will either break completely, or lose what little strength it does have in a short order. There was no “locking” sound or any other indication that the lid was actually secure, and I had to instead get down at eye level and inspect the bottom of the flap from underneath to see if it was indeed under the ridge it was supposed to snap “over”… and I STILL wasn’t sure!!! The flaps did not look or feel firmly in place, and I knew immediately I would never feel comfortable using this blender, as a tight a secure blender lid is ESSENTIAL. Also, you have to sort of pry the flimsy flaps off the same ridge to take the lid off, and they felt like they might break right then and there! The removable “lid plug”, which you can remove to add more ingredients without taking the lid off, also felt flimsy and poorly designed. PLUS, the food container itself felt REALLY cheap compared to either of my inexpensive blenders (one has an actual glass container that has lasted over 15 years, and the other is made of a MUCH heavier and more solid plastic). The only part that felt worth the $400 price tag was the base with the motor, which was really heavy compared to my other two blenders. I just think Vitamix went the cheap route on everything else. The blending power may well be far superior to my other blenders, but I’m just not willing to pay $400 for a blender with ANY cheap parts, especially such important ones. I was so excited about finally owning a Vitamix, but was so immediately dissatisfied that I packed it up10 minutes after taking it out of the box and requested a refund.Perhaps they have recently redesigned and cheapened the lid and container, as I saw only one other person with my same complaint. For what it’s worth, this is only the second negative online review I’ve ever written about a product.

Blender sent without blades… for 600.00 I expect all the promised parts along with a manual. Waste of time!

Lemon Scent who sold this blender are a fantastic company, I was initially disappointed that this blender came with an American plug and chose to return it. But Lemon Scent bent over backwards to meet my needs, they will supply an adapter to use in a UK kitchen.I purchased a Vitamix blender many years ago and fell in love with this versatile machine. Easy to use and clean. Worth the investment for sure.Thank you Lemon Scent.

I am not – WAS not – much of a “blender guy”, but the Vitamix 5200 changed that. And even though I am typing this all out in a product review, where that sort of sentiment belongs, it still sounds absurd to me. Who gets impressed by a *blender*? Me, apparently.Prior to this Vitamix the only blender I had ever used in my *entire life* was an ancient Osterizer from the 70s. The thing is literally older than I am, but beyond all reasonable expectations it still somehow works. Go Osterizer, I guess? This year I grew way too many hot peppers, decided to make a bunch of hot sauce with them, and suddenly the Osterizer showed its age. While it was fine blending a couple of smoothies a month for us, it struggled to blend up 12 litres of hot sauce in one night, so I figured maybe the time had come to get a “real” (I.E. manufactured in this century) blender. After some internet research I selected the Vitamix 5200 as being the most likely not to struggle through my new hot sauce hobby, only to find that I was basically swatting a fly with a nuke. That old Osterizer took about 2 hours of blending and cooling down to do 12 litres of my (admittedly very thick) hot sauce puree. The Vitamix 5200 did all 12 litres in less than 2 minutes. The Vitamix 5200 is *absurd*. And that has made it life-changing for us.It doesn’t matter what you put in there. You can just shove the most fibrous of vegetables in there, right up to the brim, and *bvvvvvt*, instantly pureed. Shove a bunch of ice in there…instant slushy. Anything that is a solid that you no longer want to be a solid anymore this blender will handle. So we went from a household that might make a couple of smoothies every month to one that is now bulk-making sauces, soups, and so forth. We even just toss hole grains of various types (wheat, oatmeal, rye, flax, etc.) and turn them into our own multi-grain flower, then into pre-mixed dry bread ingredients. When we are “low spoons” – I.E. we just don’t have the jam to cook properly – we can just pull out some of our pre-made sauce from the freezer, drop it on some noodles, et voila: actual food groups get consumed. As an ADHD household we have been familiar with the concept of “a critical threshold of ease of use” for some time, but we never expected to find that in a *blender*. Somehow, however, the thing is both just easy enough to use and powerful enough to handle whatever we throw at it with zero prep work that has managed to make the “pre-cooking your nutritious meals” parts of adulting just easy enough that we can actually do them on a regular basis. If you’re looking for a top-of-the-line blender for your home, you’d be hard-pressed to find anything that would top it, I think. All those rave reviews on the internet were, for once, actually not lying.

I’ve had cheap blenders in the past few years, including Ninja and other “affordable” models, and they never lasted. They survive for a few months or a year before breaking, fracturing, or simply not giving the power I require for something like a standard silky smooth smoothies. No matter how much water to fruit or vegetable ratio I used, all of my smoothies turned up lumpy, unfinished, or goopy. The amount of money I have wasted on cheap brands compared to this high quality blender specifically the 5200 is upsetting. Very pleased with the power, but as one would always say, could be cheaper, but you can’t really put a price on quality.
