Customers say
Customers find the toothbrush powerful and effective, with gentle bristles that clean teeth beautifully. Moreover, they consider it good value for money and superior to regular brushing. However, durability is a concern as units fail after one year of use. Additionally, battery life receives mixed feedback – while some say it lasts weeks, others report it gradually ceases to hold a charge.

Great tooth brush
I have used the Phillips sonicare toothbrushes for over 30 years. I would recommend them to anyone. They clean great, are easy to use and last several years. The heads change out easily and the brush lets you know when to change the brush head. There is a 2 minute timer and the brush cuts off automatically when the 2 minutes are up making it easy to brush your teeth for the recommended amount of time. I purchased this one to replace one that I had for over 7 years.

Works great
Was recommended by my dentist for best cleaning. It does a good job as she hasn’t complained of any tartar buildup since I’ve started using it! It has handy timing built in to let you know you’re done with each quadrant of your teeth. It also let’s you know if you’re brushing (pressing) too hard. However, I will say, the little vibrations the thing emits are barely noticeable, but overall, the brush is still very nice. Also, you can use a generic brush head replacement on this just fine. Don’t use the Phillips brand – way too expensive. The generic brand is not a perfect fit (the hole is not the same shape as the Phillips brush holder) however, the friction/tension still holds the brush in place just fine and works perfectly for a fraction of the cost.**** Update!! ******I just had the strangest experience with this toothbrush that I think could explain some things to other people. After about a year and a half, my toothbrush just suddenly stopped working! I thought it was the charger, maybe the battery, maybe water got inside? I was just about to give up when my husband said he had the same thing happen to his (he has the same brush) and when he put a new brush head on it started working again. Believe it or not, that actually WORKED! I did a little research and found out that this brush has some kind of RFID sync with the smart brush head to be able to tell you when to replace it. However, I assume that my after market cheapie brush heads that I use don’t offer that and somehow it messes up the brush handle and instead of an indicator light turning on, it just shuts off. But the second I got a new brush head on, it came back on, just as strong as ever! I know it was the new brush head, because I had taken the old one off and back on while I was trying to troubleshoot the brush and nothing changed. It only started working again when I put a new one on. Hope that helps someone else!

Excellent!!
I looked long and hard to find a highly rated electric toothbrush at a lower price. But it all came down to – you get what you pay for. Those cheap Chinese import no-name brands seem to just stop working after a couple of months. Phillips Sonicare brushes have been around for years, and they seem to have proven they’re worth the higher price. This thing is powerful, and the brush strokes are very high speed. I think that, combined with the medium texture bristles, will make a significant difference in my teeth. After using it for only a week, I can tell a huge difference in the looks and feel of my teeth compared to the soft Reach manual brushes I’ve used for years. I smoke and drink coffee, both of which tend to quickly deposit dark stains on my teeth. So far, I’m very impressed by the gradual improvement this brush has made in my teeth’s overall appearance.I haven’t used it long enough to comment on the claimed 14-day battery life. But, it comes with a charging stand, so if battery life is a bit shorter, I’m not concerned at all.I do wish it came with a travel case, but oh, well. It does come with a clear plastic head cover. So with that, and a cheap zip-loc bag, I can keep it clean on the road. The price of replacement brush heads is frankly a bit staggering at $8 each. Fortunately, I found authentic Phillips Sonicare C2 replacements off Amazon for less than half that price, including tax and shipping. The Sonicare is a keeper, and I highly recommend it.

Best Value – If it lasts
As a Sonicare user of several years I am pleased to recommend this model. It is very similar in form and function to their very reliable earlier product line. It’s single speed is ideal for most people, and it performs as expected. There are a couple of adjustable settings if you prefer to use them. Some might find it frustrating to manipulate them, as they are all done via pressing the brush’s single button. I didn’t find it necessary to implement any of the “extras.” The highest sonic setting is unlikely to put off any except those with very delicate tissues. And I certainly don’t feel the need to have the toothbrush tell me I’m brushing too hard. After all, the whole point of these things is to use ultrasonic sound waves to do most of the cleaning. It’s more a case of moving it around and over your teeth. Very little “brushing” is required. The other feature I don’t need is for the brush to announce when it’s worn out and in need of replacement. My own eyes and good sense work just fine thank you. It’s NOT all good. Like on most other Sonicare brushes, the provided brush head is ridiculously small. Some have described it as a child’s brush, and really, it does feel like one. Plan on spending another $20-40 on a different head. I recommend the C3 model. Be aware, it may not match the color of your handle, but it still works. Also be aware that this line of brushes has a known issue. Many users have reported that the vibrating post, upon which the brush heads mount, fails. It starts to come loose, and some report it actually coming out of the handle. Trouble starts when you hear the brush change from a relatively quiet and high-pitched sound, to a buzzy, louder, vibrato. This signals the beginning of the end. And yes…I do have personal experience with this failure. I received one of the pricey $200+ models as a holiday gift 11 months ago. it began to fail at about 10 1/2 months. I use my sonic brush only once a day (and a regular manual brush twice). The fact that I only got about 315 uses out of it before it started failing – made it easy to calculate that each time I used this outrageously expensive unit It cost me about 80 cents – more if you throw in the added cost for brushes that are actually large enough to be useful. Does this seem like a good value to you? The wisdom in purchasing the 4100 series is that if you end up getting a bad one, you’ll feel glad you didn’t pay $260 for it. Another perk in using the 4100? —You don’t have to be online just to brush your teeth!

This electric toothbrush is fantastic. There is a noticeable difference in how clean my teeth are after using it compared to manual toothbrushes. The build quality is top notch. It is easy to hold. The battery life is extremely long. I used it for over a week without charging it before it needed a charge, meaning you can travel with it for a few days and not pack the charger. The timed function is perfect, 2 minutes split into 30 seconds, with a vibrating indicator when its time to move to a new area. Additionally, you can pause it to spit if you need to and it will remember where you were in the cycle when you continue. Highly recommend this toothbrush for better oral hygiene!
