Great value, solid construction, affordable price. Great start to offset extra calories.
I’ve been wanting one of these for awhile now, but was unable to find one to fit my budget and space constraints. I also wasn’t sure if I would really use it as much as I envisioned myself using it. It wasn’t easy, but once I organized my research into a spreadsheet and prioritized my needs, it brought me to the DeerRun CT05 which was one of few that had (1) a 300 lb weight capacity & strong 3.0 horsepower to match (should my husband want to use it). (2) good post-purchase customer support/warranty. Having one without the other can leave you with a very large paper weight should it have a technical issue & break, and most importantly (3) a handrail with the same buttons/quick keys built in as the remote! I’ve read too many negative reviews of ‘lost the remote’ and unable to use treadmill. I have 2 kittens need I say more? It’s also a nice safety feature for stepping on/off the pad should I get disoriented or lose my balance. This treadmill checked off all my boxes. Straight out of the box and in under 5 minutes the treadmill was ready to plug in and use (CE certified). There was nothing to assemble, calibrate or test, or log in to. The belt movement is smooth and transitions quietly even when changing speeds while in stride. I can use the treadmill without waking my husband in the room next door and it will not distract a listener if you’re walking & talking on the phone. I’m 5’4” and the deck is spacious, feels sturdy & is incredibly smooth for my walking/jogging and running stride. So far, it has not tripped any circuits in this almost 100 yr old house which has been a growing concern of mine when bringing in newer electronics. On the other hand, I haven’t been on it for a couple of hours straight to test it’s motor as well as house circuits. The handrail is the most indispensable feature for me and has saved my bacon more than once. In walking pad mode (handrail down) you have a max speed of up to 3.5 mph. In running mode (handrail up), you have a max speed of 7.5 mph. I pretty much keep the handrail always in the up position since I have nothing to grab should I become distracted. Adjusting speed from the handrail is easy and done in .1 mph increments with the +/- buttons or you can use the quick jump keys for 3 mph or 6 mph. Anyway, the ease of locking/unlocking the handrail system can be a little tricky at first. I was unsure how it worked and was afraid of breaking the treadmill within hours of receipt so I didn’t try unlocking with a heavy hand. Of course nothing happened (lol). Applied some pressure and it’s no longer an issue for me. Pull flippers down, rotate counter clockwise or towards front of unit, fold down handrail. Easy peasy. P.S. The remote came with a fresh pair of batteries and the phone stand is definitely a nice perk for your phone, pad, remote and safety lock. The unit is easy to move about. While it’s not entirely light at almost 62 lbs, the FedEx guy carried it on his shoulder. Anyway, it does come with a pair of rollers on the front end to make moving it easy. With the handrail down you are able to lift/tilt the back portion of the pad to engage the wheels to roll or slide the unit horizontally under your walking desk or bed/table/sofa for storage. Since the wheels/rollers are housed on the front end of the unit (where the main circuitry/brains are housed), storing vertically or diagonally may not be the better storage solution. The wifi bluetooth connectivity is built in and is not essential to operating the treadmill. You don’t need to log into a subscription service to use it. However, the digital screen readout displays your progress in “real time” which will automatically reset to zero when you end a session. To keep a running tally of your progress you will need to record manually or use their PitPat app to track and provide a more interactive experience. I’ve used it a couple of times and it’s OK, but not my thing. You can also use your FitBit set to treadmill mode.Post purchase customer support & warranty was really the deciding factor as to my brand choice. A warranty does me no good if the company is no longer in business, or customer support can’t be reached or is indifferent to my issue. As luck would have it, I actually had an opportunity to call with a concern I had over ‘belt lines/creases’ on the running belt. There were real humans (Ronalyn & Jaspher), who were helpful, understanding, knowledgeable, and responsive in addressing my concerns. The not so nice stuff:- This model does not include the DeerRun logo on the running belt like their other units.- The ‘belt line’ issue still nags the OCD part of me, but I’ll get over it.- The loudest sound from the treadmill is actually the “beeper” that’s built in. There is no volume control or mute for the speaker so it sounds off on startup, countdown, and speed changes.- This model does not contain a heart monitoring feature.I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. In a nutshell, it’s an affordable, well designed/sturdy build, mid-range basic treadmill without all the bells & whistles that is modern looking, and simple to use. 5-stars and I highly recommend!!! Consider it an investment in your health. As for durability, only time will tell. As always, I’ll update of any changes.*One thing I never would have considered are the cats thinking it is a new scratch pad. For protection when not in operation you can use an old kitchen floor mat.

Wow, great quality for such a reasonable price!
Love this walking pad so much that I brought it into my office to use whenever I want!It is surprisingly attractive with the dusty pink stripe on each side. It also works really well. I am surprised how fast it can go!It is surprisingly sturdy (ie-heavy) but easy to move with the wheels.Another sturdy feature is the shiny white powder coated metal handrail, very well made and attractive. I definitely recommend getting a pad with a handrail, it makes it feel more like a treadmill and is a good safety feature. Speaking of which, this pad has a heart/safety thing like expensive treadmills at the gym. If you pull it off the handrail, the pad stops. Good thing to have. Also there is a big readout on the base, so you don’t have to look at a screen or a phone to see your progress. Nice feature. Also comes with a handy phone holder that works with small books as well. That is a nice accessory that is basically a free gift. Thank you, DeerRun.And thank you, Chalene Johnson, for telling us about DeerRun in a review of walking pads.

    Great walking pad
It arrived quickly and was well packaged. It was super easy to assemble (you basically just attach the phone rest and power cord and adjust the belt). I really love it, it’s super convenient. I just keep it set up in my living room, but it’s light enough that you could put it away without issue if you needed to do that (it closes up to about 4.5 inches high and has little wheels on the front). It runs smooth, no jerky/skippy feeling in the belt. The belt is a little shorter than a full treadmill, but I haven’t found that to be an issue. I mostly just walk fast 4-5 MPH, but I have jogged a few times and it works well. It has an app with games and stuff, but I don’t really use it (you can’t also play music if you’re playing the games, which annoys me).All in all I think it’s a really good value for the money.

Good value, but harder to fold & move than expected
Great walking pad. Works as it should, easy to operate, nice display. The only reason 4 stars is it’s more difficult to set up than anticipated. Maybe mine is stiffer than it should be, but it wasn’t as easy as the video showed. Because of that, I just leave it set up in my office. It’s sturdy, but the foldability is a challenge.
