Began purchasing this product for my daughter several months ago. Good, But Caused Acne Breakout
While these were easy to swallow, and the price was reasonable, I had a severe acne breakout on my back while taking them for the past month. Acne flare-ups are a common side effect associated with taking high strength probiotics.Here’s the kicker, I did not take the 100 billion CFU suggested serving size. I actually only took 1 tablet, thus cutting the dosage down to 50 billion CFU. Even at that level, the acne breakout was bad. I do not have any known food allergies. I have since stopped taking them, and the acne has started clearing up. I will have to find a different brand with a much lower dosage. Research is showing that 1 to 10 billion CFU with 10+ strains is sufficient for adults.Update 3-14-23: although this probiotic did cause a severe acne breakout on my back, their customer service reached out to me and provided a full refund. That gesture was very appreciated and it is a testament to their customer service mentality. For that reason I added 1 star.
