I have used the mat daily for the past four weeks. During my first use I noticed a chemical outgassing that caused some reason for alarm. After a couple weeks the smell has greatly diminished. I could deduct 1/2 star for the industrial chemical odor. That’s it for the bad news.The good news is that Red Light Therapy has accelerated my recovery from a major brain surgery. Obviously, individual results may vary, however, I am fully convinced in the efficacy of this technology. Mainstream medicine is too tightly coupled with pharmaceutical companies and have trained medical doctors in their profitable enterprise, that should be called Disease Treatments or Prescription Drug Practices, not “Health Care”. Marketing is employed at every step to convince everyone, but I will leave you to think about this reality.One simple observation is that the early sunlight causes the flowers to bloom, and that’s exactly what this mat provides. At first the included eyeglasses were used (as recommended) for eye protection, and now I don’t need them. Gradually, my eyes adapted with eyelids closed, and now I can open my eyes completely for short periods of up to 30 seconds without any eye protection. That being said, it seems highly effective at improving my vision impairment.I had been suffering from a loss of vision in both eyes due to a pituitary macro-adenoma. Post-surgery I resumed immediately, and six days afterwards, my neuro-ophthalmologist retested my eyes and confirmed what I was hoping so hear. Eyesight in both eyes is now, 20/20!I turned 70 years old last July, and had been on a healthy diet and exercise program for over one year; losing over thirty pounds. These pro-active actions, coupled with daily meditation and recently red light therapy resolved my most significant health concern. Blindness!

This red light “sleeping bag” is awesome. The sides stay open and are connected with little fasteners. You will get a bit warm, so the sides being open helps with body temperature. I lay in it bare and I can wipe the parts clean if I find necessary after each or every other treatment. It’s all up to you. But I find I don’t dirty it up so I clean about every 6 uses.I find it best to use this red light therapy product when attempting to relax and meditate. As it takes a minute to get it out ( I don’t keep it out) and put it down on the floor and slip in it. I bring a satin pillow for my head. If I struggle to meditate or be at a calm with my own mind, I put on Audible on speaker and listen with my eyes closed. At the end of my session I roll it up and place back into a closet.While I rest during treatment, I use the bottom potion of the blanket that is an entirely a rectangle below me so the back of my head gets the satin pillow. Then the side with the extra flap I use literally on top of my face. Personally, I’m entirely covered – i.e. every part of my skin is covered, but I’m five foot 2 inches tall. If I were taller, I’d just choose to let my feet dangle out the bottom. I think the most important parts to cover are face, chest, back, stomach, pelvis, hips and upper legs. I think the most important parts to cover are the face plus all the meaty parts where there is more fat etc. these areas can benefit from this light. I’m much less concerned about my forearms, hands, lower legs, or feet. But since I’m short and this thing is wide, I’m all covered up.After a session, I’m not dripping with sweat. Especially because the sides are open. I read all about the science behind red light sessions and I don’t know how to prove anything. All I know is that I usually get wintertime blues, and I haven’t had those at all. Given the current political fiasco and coup, I’m really stressed out. But taking time for myself in this red light therapy blanket I find convenient and dissociating from the hardships of my life. Allowing me to feel better internally – well mentally – and that’s very, very worth it. Any comfort and healthy assistance is so valuable.
