Dramatically change your life in just minutes a day with this powerful guided journal.

When you are faced with life’s challenges, it’s easy to lose track of what’s important, get stuck in your thoughts and emotions, and become bogged down by day-to-day problems. Even if you’ve made a commitment to live according to your core values, the ‘real-world’ has a way of driving a wedge between you and a deeper, more meaningful life. Now there’s a flexible program for learning how to practice a popular, proven-effective therapy protocol on your schedule!

With The ACT Daily Journal, you’ll learn all about the six core processes of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)—including mindfulness, acceptance, and values-based living—and even learn about a seventh: self-compassion. If there was ever a time to adopt the ACT approach to living, it’s now. By applying ACT to your life, you’ll learn how to roll with life’s punches, and stay in contact with the present moment, even when you have unpleasant thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations.

The gift of being present is becoming increasingly valuable in these uncertain times of conflict and chaos; it’s never been so important to live flexibly, with more meaning, and with a deeper understanding of shared struggles and our inherent humanity.

ACT is more than just a therapy—it’s a framework for living well. It helps us accept. It teaches us to make a commitment to what we deeply care about. And it works best when practiced daily. Let this journal guide you toward what really matters to you.

    Therapist recommended
I had a therapist recommend this and I really like the prompts. It doesn’t take much time out of my day and I feel it’s helped my personal growth. I like it so much I bought a second book to gift a family member.

    A Really Helpful Book
This book was recommended to me by my therapist to continue the work I have been doing. Book arrived fast and is well made. Most importantly, the content of the book is really helpful! I really enjoyed the bite sized “daily” check-ins and it has really helped me with some of the things I am going through. I have recommended it to others as well.

It works!! It helped me so much during my darkest moments of my life…. Thank you!!
It was inspiring and easy to follow. I got this and Get out of your mind and into your life book by Hayes at the same time. And I am so glad I read the ACT Daily Journal first. This book got me out of the dark moment I was living, and brought me hope. I followed each one of the strategies and worked. I recommend it!

    Great so far
Easy to follow and keep up with. Doesn’t feel like regular therapy makes you think about things constructively. A lot of references from the authors podcast.

Different Than I Thought but Good
I used this product as a guided journal to add to my large set of guided journals. I know that my current therapist uses ACT, and I had a New Harbinger OCD book from my mom from years ago, so I thought these New Harbinger journals would be good.It is different than I thought. I don’t know why I thought this, but I thought it would be heavily weighted towards journaling, but there is actually more to read than I thought, but that actually makes sense because you need to learn ACT to be able to write about using it. The authors are the two hosts of the podcast Psychologists Off the Clock, which I did not know before buying the book. They talk about their own experiences throughout the book. It is divided into 8 7-day weeks. You start with chapter one, and at the end of chapter one, they tell you to go to whatever chapter you want next.Every day has about a page to read, a journal prompt related to the day’s reading, a related activity to practice now, an “ACT in My Life” section that has more space to journal, and then “Today’s Practice”, which is something to do either one time or throughout your day.I don’t like that they assume that you are doing this journal first thing in the day, because I never do.I’m not sure it’s going to help me use ACT all the time, but I guess it’s at least an introduction, and I do appreciate some of the readings. Oh, and each chapter also has an introduction as well as the whole book.

    Great Resource
As a certified trauma and marriage therapist, I find this book to be a great resource. Over the years I have been searching for and trying different methods to teach my clients how to regulate their internal world and find emotional balance and stability in order to more effectively process the challenges of marriage and trauma. I had read about ACT and wanted to learn more about it. I was happy to find a book that not only explains ACT in a simple and practical way, but also provides a systematic process for applying the material to one’s life.

I’ve bought this for all my friends and recommended it to countless more, including people I peer-support. It is simple to follow and really gives you massive insight, as well as enabling you to make small changes that make a huge difference. As long as you pick it up every single day (even if you don’t write in it every day).

I am a positive psychologist, I use tools in my coaching practice and for myself and this journal is amazing. The structure of the daily information and prompts are simple and easy to follow with impactful results. It’s the best thing I’ve come across for ACT to create changes in your life. Use it, you won’t regret it.

The ACT Daily Journal basically is an 8-week course on applying the concepts of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) in daily life. Each week covers a different theme/core process. For each day, there are journaling suggestions, prompts for reflection and daily practices.I really liked the length of the daily chapters and the overall sequence of the themes/topics – starting with self-compassion, then going through the core ACT processes and ending with a week on integrating the content of the past weeks while also taking a broader perspective.I am not new to ACT and I could still take away new insights from this book. I can definitely see myself going back to it from time to time. It might also be interesting for therapists looking for exercises and suggestions for their clients.
