Good instant read.
The back light is not automatic. It’s a bit of a nuisance to have to double press the “on” button to get the backlight on and do it again to keep the back light on. Otherwise, it’s a handy way to quickly get the temperature of the food you’re cooking. It also has an easy method of resetting the accuracy if you have to.
