Released in August 2022, our 3rd generation water bottle holder is designed to carry a 1L Smartwater bottle (2.75″ diameter). The holder easily attaches (see ‘Install Video’) to your backpack’s shoulder strap with a snap hook at the top and three rear elastic bands to provide stability when hiking. Top and bottom loop pull tabs make it easy to insert and pull water bottle out of the holder. Ultralight weight of 0.5 ounces. Holder dimensions are 4” x 9.5”. The design, material, and stitching used to produce this holder ensures it’s as functional, durable, and ultra-light weight as possible. A little about the material we use: The front and back panels are made of super durable 100% nylon mesh. The elastic straps, cording, and buckle are made from high-strength nylon. Our craftspeople use reinforced stitching techniques to ensure extreme durability along each seam. If you prefer to have the holder sit approximately 1.5″ higher on your shoulder strap and be attached without the snap hook, please watch the Install Video to see how to remove the snap hook and use the lower buckle as the fastener. Please note that your backpack must have detachable shoulder straps as our holders slide around a shoulder strap. Also, you can carry the Smart Water bottle upside down (see photo) as some hikers find it easier to insert the bottle into the holder this way. All of our products have exceptional design, material, craftsmanship, and customer service. They are backed by our ‘Forever Guarantee’….our gear is built to last forever, so if you ever have a problem, no matter how old it is, let us know and we’ll send you a replacement.

Customers say

Customers find the water bottle holder works well while hiking the Appalachian Trail and appreciate its lightweight design and secure attachment to the shoulder strap. The fit receives mixed feedback – while it accommodates 700ml bottles perfectly, it’s too tight for 1-liter bottles. Moreover, customers disagree on the ease of accessing the bottle, with some finding it convenient while others struggle to remove it. The durability is positive, with customers noting it holds bottles securely, though opinions on the design are divided between those who like the great design and those who report poor construction.

    Great for backpacking
Perfect tool for the job.BTW I found it easier to insert the 1l Smart water bottle it I did it cap end down. The taper helps to get the bottle into the snug fitting holder.

    Field tested, pretty good
Just got back from 50+ miles backpacking over rugged terrain and these were super helpful as my backpack doesn’t have quick access to water bottles and I don’t like reservoirs. Using 700 ml bottles, the fit was great except when trying to put them back in, it was a real struggle – the upshot is that they don’t fall out easily. I also broke a buckle at some point and had to readjust pretty frequently but was able to make do. I would recommend manufacturer updaeltes with a beefier (at least 3/4″) strap and buckle for .the upper attachment. Overall, satisfied and will continue using with some tweaks.

Sleeve to small for some bottles.
Even though I read the reviews of the sleeve being kind of two small for a 1-liter Smart water bottle I decided to give it a try anyway because of the low cost compared to other ultralight bottle holders. The reviews are correct as I do also find the sleeve to be too tight for a 1L smart water bottle. It is very difficult to get in and out with one hand. I like the design, and the quality seems to be just fine. I am going to see if I can find a different bottle that will fit better otherwise it will be non-functional for me. Time will tell.

    Wicked good product!
Been using this for a couple years now. I go backpacking often and it is fantastic to have an extra bottle sitting right there. has held up really well. For the money, it’s hard to complain about.

Love the easy access to my water bottle
I’ve never liked a water bladder, instead always preferred water bottles when hiking. On the other hand I always disliked that the position of the water bottles in my pack required I remove the pack for access. This accessory removes that burden providing easy access to my water bottle. It’s also easy to install and will fit most packs and is light weight.

    I didn’t like it
The problem with this item is it has to slip over the end of the strap that tightens the shoulder strap on your backpack. The end of the strap has to slip all the way out of the plastic buckle at the bottom. So the pack I bought this for doesn’t allow for the strap to slip all the way out-it’s not designed to do that. So I had to cut and re-fit the shoulder strap just to put this thing onThe next problem was that once I cut and modified my pack, the bottle holder STILL failed to stay in place and gravity caused it to always slip down to the bottom of the strap when it didn’t have a water bottle in it, where this holder would then get wrapped up in my hand. AnnoyingThis item is a good idea in theory but bad in execution. I cut it up and trashed it

    Great product!
I added this to my ULA Circuit pack for a weeklong backpacking trip in the San Juans and it was exactly what I needed. It’s affordable, super lightweight and fit my 700 ml water bottle and pack perfectly. Thanks Mountain Mike! I highly recommend this product.

Hier past geen liter water in! Lijkt eerder op een brillen houder. Veel geld voor niets. Ik was al aan het hiken toen het pakketje aankwam. Nu te laat om het teru te sturen.
