How Did We Get Our Start?
Back in the mid-1990s, our founder Bill Whyte worked as a carpenter. He worked hard, and so did his hands. They would often split and crack in the frigid New England winters. One night, seeking a soothing solution, he mixed up some beeswax and olive oil to create a simple herbal balm. It helped his hands so much, he decided to share it with everyone he knew – and the rest, as they say, is Badger history.

Perfect for Our Vacation â No Sunburn at All!
I bought this sunscreen for my son before our trip to Cancún, and it was absolutely worth it. We spent a lot of time at the beach and in the pools, and Iâm so happy to sayâhe didnât get a single sunburn! It held up really well even with all the swimming, and I felt good knowing itâs made with natural, reef-friendly ingredients. It does go on a little thick (as most mineral sunscreens do), but once itâs rubbed in, it stays put and does the job. No irritation, no strong fragranceâjust solid protection. I reapplied as recommended and it kept his skin completely safe the entire trip. Definitely bringing this with us on every beach vacation from now on!

I use this on my face every day, even in the winter. The scent is light and pleasant, not offensive or intense at all like the previous sunscreens and sun milks I’ve used. Yuka rates it very highly for ingredient safety. It doesn’t smell like zinc or nasty chemicals. It does leave a bit of a greasy coating on your skin, but I don’t really notice it after applying. I have lighter (but not the lightest) skin, and it doesn’t give me a white cast, unlike other zinc sunscreens. I did have to buy an oil-based cleanser to remove it, but that’s how it is with all physical sunscreens. I just couldn’t stick to the other ones long enough to find it worth investing in the proper cleanser before.

Great sunscreen for babies!
Love this sun screen for my little one. We used it in Florida and Arizona and she has not had any sun burns. Love that there are clean ingredients. It is very thick but I donât mind that.

Love the smell, love that it goes almost 95% clear once you rub it in well, love that it is mineral based. Kid typically doesn’t like sunscreens but loves this one.I do have to say that it is REALLY THICK and a little hard to squeeze out some times but once it’s out and you rub it well it’s really nice. Will definitely be buying again, and will definitely have to as my child has used it like 4 times for the face and once in the arms only, and it seems to be almost half way already.

No sunburn and no allergy reaction!
Loved the smell. Worked great. Iâm allergic to coconut oil and palm kernel oil and some derivatives and I did not have a reaction to this sunscreen. As a bonus; itâs the first time I traveled through Alabama and Florida and didnât get one bug bite. I started applying it to ankles and wrist even if I wasnât going to be in the sun. Amazing product and will be purchasing again provided they keep the formula the same.

Wonderful for sensitive skin!! It does leave a little bit of a white residue if you donât really rub it in but still totally worth it! Weâve gone through three already this spring! And the smell is great!

This sunscreen is pretty amazing. After laser treatment, I was advised to completely avoid the sun and to use a mineral based sunscreen. Avoiding the sun in summer in Texas? Right! This product is thick enough to completely cover but does not leave a coating after a few minutes. It also doesnât bother my eyes. I am able to use makeup over it After several months of use, Iâve had no brown spots nor other discoloration. Itâs not just for kids but I imagine it would work for them also.
