This infared thermometer is used for measuring the temperature of the object’s surface, which is applicable for various hot or hard-to-reach objects without contact safely and quickly. This unit consist of optics, temperature sensor,signal amplifier, processing circuit and LCD Display. The optics collected the infrared energy emied by object and focus onto the sensor. Then the sensor translates the energy into an electricity signal. This signal will be turned out to be digital shown on the LCD after the signal amplifer and processing circuit.

When take measurement, pay attention to the Distance to Spot Size. As the Distance (D) from the target surface increases, the spot size (S) of the area measured by the unit becomes larger.The Distance to Spot size of the unit is 12:1 ***This unit is equipped with a laser, which is used for aiming.Field of view:Make sure the target is larger than the unit’s spot size. The smaller the target the closer measure distance. When accuracy is critical, make sure the target is at least twice as large as the spot size.
2. Emissivity 0.95 preset
Most organic materials and painted or oxidized surfaces have an emissivity of 0.95 (pre-set in the unit). Inaccurate readings will result from measuring shiny or polished metal surfaces. To compensate, cover the target surface with masking tape or flat black paint. Measure the tape or painted surface when the tape or painted reach the same temperature as the material underneath.

Plenty of uses
Good for checking cooking oil temps, cold spots/insulation gaps in walls, cold air leaks, etc. Seems fairly accurate, I’d estimate it’s better than ±3 degrees F. Not accurate enough for body temp measurements, but for just about anything else, good enough. Has a wide measurement range. The batteries last a long time. Very inexpensive.

SURPRISED AT HOW BUDGET THE COST WAS FOR THIS, BUT IT ABSOLUTELY WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN COST! WORKS WELL FOR AIR VENTS, EVEN READS SKIN TEMPERATURE!!!!! (CANT READ INTERNAL BODY TEMP.. Cheap but reliable
I wanted a cheap thermometer to check griddle temp and it has worked very well. This thermometer doesnât have all the bells and whistles and although it lacks somewhat on build quality it has never failed to function as intended. Would recommend.

Our food pantry has used this device since 2019 for monitoring the temperature of food arriving from the food bank and retail donors. It is easy to use and reliably provides the temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius. Basically, point, squeeze handle, read temperature, and record results. If it doesn’t work it probably needs new batteries OR the batteries were incorrectly inserted. We now own 5.

Decent value that gets the job done. For the money, you can’t expect greatness. Does it read temperatures? Yes. Are they 100% accurate? Meh. I bought this to track down a leaking injector on my 1 ton and it showed me that there was a definite difference in cylinder temperatures, but seems to have an issue giving accurate or consistent temperatures for AC vents in the house. It works well enough for what I needed it for, and seems fairly durable. The laser is WAY off, so you have to figure out where the sensor is actually pointing.
