The DonJoy Lateral J Patella Knee Brace is equipped with a tubular, lateral “J” buttress that runs alongside the knee. This knee brace can be worn for day-to-day activities and while playing sports; both in and out of the water. Intended for those suffering from lateral patellofemoral knee pain related to the following: lateral patellar subluxation and dislocations, lateral patellofemoral malalignment, patellofemoral maltracking and pain, and chondromalacia. It’s designed to provide you with multiple treatment options to best suit your needs. Choose the knee brace material between Drytex and neoprene; and with or without hinges. Drytex allows for improved airflow while still giving ample support and compression. It’s preferred by those in warm weather climates and individuals with neoprene allergies or irritations. Neoprene is a thicker, wetsuit-like material. It provides plenty of support and compression, and delivers a warmer option. Aluminum hinges offer enhanced stability and allow you to function with more confidence and comfort. Universal design allows the DonJoy Lateral J Patella Knee Brace to be used by both men and women.

Great brace!
So far it is my daughterâs favorite knee brace! Her groove in her bone isnât deep enough for her patella to sit in which cause her to dislocate her knee cap. This brace holds her patella in place and is comfortable. It has also held up the best out of all that we have tried. Most only last a few months this one has lasted close to 2 years. We just bought our second one and will definitely continue to buy them as she needs them. They work great for her to use during wrestling matches.

Won’t let me return!!
I ordered this and it’s too small. Sizing is innacurate. I tried to return it and all they offer is trouble shooting. I’m so extremely frustrated. I never would have ordered if I had known I didn’t have options to return it if it didn’t work. What the heck, man? Also, the material is extremely uncomfortable and itchy.

It’s ok
I got one of these from my doctor’s – it works pretty good so I order this second one from Amazon so I could keep one in my locker at the gym and one in my car for hiking. This one is slightly different than the doctors – this one is the quick dry fabric – the more expensive doctor’s office is more laytex like. Amazon’s is also much cheaper. Well, you get what you pay for. This one does the job but it doesn’t stay on as well. The quick dry fabric is less grabby so it shifts around too much. It also bleeds black ink on to my leg. I’ve rinsed it a zillion times and have even washed it with a little bit of soap a few times – it still bleeds. And, during humid weather is gives me a rash and has even caused a few blisters along the top on the back of my thigh. It does however support my knee – which I guess is the point. I think both braces, along with all the PT exercises by Physical Therapist gave me have definitely helped. So I wear it, black smudges, rashes, blisters and all.I wish they sold the non-quick dry version here.

DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE A KNEE INJURY
Where do I begin? Firstly, the sizing is totally inaccurate. I’m a 135lb woman. I tore my MCL in two places and dislocated my knee cap. My doctor recommended this item as “an example” of what to buy, so I trusted her and went straight to the exact brand/label. I have spent (8) days dealing with returns, exchanges, and *no refunds* to get the accurate size. I followed the company’s photos that outlined what size matched my body based on inches. It is *totally inaccurate* and now I’m out over $100. DON’T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! My concern isn’t the money, it’s my knee cap – that’s now healing inaccurately, because I’ve not had the right brace on it, despite my best efforts. I am beyond frustrated, because now I’m suffering permanent damage. Save yourself this stress— do not buy from this company.

Comfortable brace
Hard to find these types of DonJoy braces in this length anymore. Always one of the most comfortable even with extended wear times.

Otherwise seems like a reasonable product
The seam running down the back is very uncomfortable/painful. Otherwise seems like a reasonable product, but the problem with the seam is a deal breaker. I found this similar product Pro-Tec Athletics J-Lat Lateral Subluxation Support (Left, X-Large) that is much more comfortable and effective.

Dr told me to buy these
My dr walked me through Amazon to order the exact knee braces since insurance would cover 2 sets. These are the exact same pair our orthopedic surgeon’s office gives out. And was cheaper then if insurance would have covered a portion of it

Uncomfortable to Wear
I was very disappointed with this brace. I bought this knowing the Donjoy name as I have purchased others from them. This is very poorly designed. I was sure to put the brace on correctly, and went for a 3 mile run. About half way into the run, the stitching on the back of the brace started to severely irritate my leg. The discomfort was such that it was impeding my ability to run well. After, my wife noticed a red line on the back of my knee where the brace was irritating me. I’ve worn numerous braces for both my knees, I have never had a brace with stitching like this, particularly on the back. I would not recommend this for anyone.
Amazon Customer –
I have the exact same one for opposite leg and sizing is different. Also really hurts back of knee. Itchy scratchy fabric. Constantly slides down despite it being a VERY tight fit. I dont know why they dont put a sticky yet soft material around the top and bottom on the inside like stick up nylons or something…
