The DonJoy Reaction WEB Knee Brace uses a responsive, webbed approach to knee pain that gives you a distinct alternative to the basic knee sleeve. Developed by world renowned orthopedic surgeon, Dr. William Nordt, the DonJoy Reaction WEB can help decrease knee pain and increase function, getting you back to your active lifestyle. The elastomeric web is an innovative solution that absorbs shock, disperses energy and shifts pain away from your knee. This webbing acts to dynamically stabilize the patella (kneecap) on all sides, bringing the patella into proper tracking position to reduce pain. The open framework of the elastomeric web, in combination with the mesh backing, creates a comfortable fit and a breathable solution for relief of anterior knee pain. It’s secured with Velcro straps, and weighs only 0.5 lbs. The lightweight design makes this knee brace ideal for all-day use. One undersleeve is included, and is made of 85% nylon/15% spandex. The DonJoy Reaction WEB can be used to treat or prevent the following knee injuries: patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS), chondromalacia patella (runner’s knee), quadriceps or patellar tendonitis/tendinosis (jumper’s knee), Osgood-Schlatter disease, general patellar tracking issues and instability, and mild knee osteoarthritis. The DonJoy Reaction WEB is worn by professional snowboarders, volleyball, football players; as well as the U.S. Snowboarding and U.S. Ski teams. Universal fit allows the DonJoy Reaction WEB Knee Brace to be worn on either the left or the right leg.
The REACTION knee brace is designed to help reduce pain by shock absorption and by returning kinetic energy to the knee. Indications for use are mild to moderate patellofemoral pain or maltracking and mild to moderate osteoarthritis of the knee. If you experience any pain, swelling, sensation changes, or any unusual reactions while using this product, consult your medical professional immediately. Both the plastic parts and pads can be hand wash with mild soap in lukewarm water. Rinse both thoroughly. AIR DRY separately. FOR SINGLE PATIENT USE. NOT MADE WITH NATURAL RUBBER LATEX

supportive and able to still have movement.
My daughter is 11 and a gymnast. She started having and issue this year with Plica of her knee tendon and Hoffa -the swelling of the fat pad under the knee cap. This brace was super tight at first, but stretched a bit and my daughter feels supported and comfortable and her knee issue on one side has resolved.

Very uncomfortable
I ordered this brace after having meniscus surgery on my knee 5 months ago. I was hoping it would provide support for me while trying to get back into activities like hiking, biking, and skiing. I measured my leg according to the instructions and ordered a size large. After the brace arrived, I tried it on with the compression sleeve. It was so tight that I could not wear it. I tried the brace without the sleeve and it fit ok. It has to be strapped on tight to work properly, which makes it less comfortable. I decided to try it on a mountain bike ride. I strapped it on and loaded my bike into my truck for a 15 minute drive to the trails. My leg was in pain by the time I arrived due to the brace. I rode around for about 2 minutes and the brace was very uncomfortable and did not perform as I was hoping. I took it offI think the problem is on the design. It seems like once the knee is flexed, it stretches the plastic until the knee is in the straight position. This does not allow partial flexion, which renders it useless for me and what I wanted to use it for.I ended up finding a better one made by 3m at my local cvs. I have worn it skiing multiple times and often forget it is there as it provides the support I want.I do not recommend this brace because in my opinion it is so uncomfortable that I do not want to wear it.

By far the best knee brace I’ve tried.
Okay, so the material is a little weird. The sleeve that came with mine is not at all what was advertised, but it makes the knee brace slide down anyway, and isn’t worth the trouble of using. The knee brace! It is FANTASTIC! It has a pretty low profile, it keeps my kneecap tracking properly and prevents subluxations/dislocations. Even though the side hinges are fairly flimsy-looking, they’ve helped keep my knees stable. My knees are in a very bad way, but wearing this brace spreads out the impact, keeps things stable, and makes me far more comfortable and safe. I love that it’s reversible (that is, can be worn on either leg), because I haven’t bought a second one yet. The biggest possible problem of wearing two is that they’ll rub together, but that’s a problem with all knee braces, and these ones don’t seem like they’ll detach each other, which is often what happens with Velcro. The Velcro is thick and strong, without being difficult to work with. Also, I read that these are contracted out to different companies and the quality can vary–I got the blue XL/XXL and I’m thrilled with it. Pointers: make sure you measure very carefully as the manufacturer clearly explains, and don’t tug on the webbing part or it will wear out sooner. Oh, and a last thing–yes, there’s fabric that goes around the back of the kneecap. It doesn’t tug, it doesn’t bunch, it doesn’t hurt. It mainly seems there to keep the straps above and below in place, so they don’t work into the back of your knee and make it uncomfortable, either. Great job, DonJoy! Thank you for helping me get some of my mobility back and easing the pain a bit!

Best knee brace I have found!
This is my second DonJoy Reaction Knee Brace. I LOVE THEM! This brace gives me tremendous support and moves/bends easily. It is by far the best knee brace I have ever used and I have used a number of them. I use it exercising, hiking in the mountains, and doing dog agility. Some other braces (and even a different DonJoy knee brace) sometimes pinch the sides or back of your knee when you are moving. This one is comfortable and provides lots of support. I removed one star for the following reasons: 1) The velcro on my first reaction knee brace quickly wore out and wouldn’t stick anymore. I did call DonJoy and purchased a velcro add-on so that the brace would hold but it didn’t have the same tightness as this new one does; 2) Like all braces, it is hot, but that seems to be the nature of the beast; 3) If you wear this brace over pants, it doesn’t stay up as well as I would like and keeps slipping down. It really does much better staying put when it is next to your skin (which does make you pretty sweaty!). There is a sleeve that comes with it but I still think it stays in place best with it next to your skin. Despite these 3 things, I still think this is the best brace out there, and I highly recommend it. For reference, I injured my knee in a fall whereby I nicked all the ligaments and tendons; the patella tendon had to be re-attached; and I shattered all the cartilage in my knee. This beauty does the trick for me! It was recommended by my PT and orthopedic surgeon and they were spot on!

This product is beyond my expectations – I have a ruptured ACL, 3rd degree MCL tear, LCL sprain, bucket handle tear to the meniscus and bone contusions. The larger hinged immobilizer from the same company was not cutting it as I am small. My knee was still not being supported against torsional movements and I was limping badly, throwing off all my body mechanics.I decided to give this a try. With and without the sleeve it holds my knee securely – I have not hyperextended or rotated my knee since I started using it. I donât feel any abnormal movements in the knee while walking with this, in fact, I tend to forget I am wearing it until I go to walk downtairs since it is snug.I donât feel any pain, only slight twinges when using it, but my knee is a mess awaiting surgery. It is not listed as being recommended for combined instabilities or severe ligament injuries so I do caution that you make the choice with your doctor or Physio. I am very active and have leg muscles that are supporting my knee so that it barely feels unstable when assessed by the surgeons. Nobody suspected any ligament tears at all until the MRI was done, it was thought to be perhaps a minor MCL sprain and meniscus tear.I would compare this to strapping a bunch of silicone bungee cords on the outside of your knee to replace the damaged ligaments inside until they can be fixed. The Velcro issues in much earlier comments appear to have been resolved, this is very comfortable and strong.

We have used this knee brace brace extensively in the past, and this purchase is for the second knee, which now is also getting old! This item was delayed by some weeks, but the vendor contacted us to explain that their supplier was out of stock, so at least we were kept informed.
