So useful
Ordered this set for my mother in law who needs knee and hip surgery. Getting in and out of her car has become so painful for her. When I saw these car canes I thought they would be a great temporary solution to give her some assistance till she can get her surgeries. So far they have worked really well.-love that this is a set of two. Makes it easy if you have multiple cars, or need for multiple users.-this is one solid molded piece of composite plastic. The plastic is less likely to scratch your car’s finish and the design seems quite durable. I originally ordered another model that had a slightly different shape and a metal hook with a plastic handle. We ended up returning that one. We were afraid that the two part design could snap when my mother and law put her full weight on it…possibly injuring her further. This design has worked really well so far.-it hooks into and out of her car easily and takes up no room.Really think this would be useful for any elderly relative who is less steady on their feet or anyone recovering from and injury. Would not hesitate to buy again.

Works great but…
These feel strong and high quality. I got them to help my elderly grandpa with getting out of the car. I’ve tested these to make sure they can support a decent amount of weight, and they seem to hold up great. The biggest problem we had which had nothing to do with the product itself was that the location where the cars door latches is to low for this to be useful for him. So my biggest suggestion would be to make sure latch is in a good location for these products before purchase. Otherwise, this seems like a high-quality durable product.

Too large/thick for some cars so measure before you order. Good sturdy construction. Larger than I expected. Good grip – comfortable in the hand. I like that it’s a 2 pack so you either have a spare or multiple people in a car can use them. It works well – really secure & doesn’t damage the car. Doesn’t have built in car safety features like a seat belt cutter or window breaker and no bells & whistles but it works great for what it is (if it works with your vehicle).

Strong, Comfortable to Use, Protects Car
My mother, 88 years old and a great-great-grandmother, is not as mobile as she once was. Both of her knees suffered damage in separate falls in past years, and this year she suffered a broken hip in another ugly fall. There were touch-and-go moments during her recovery, and I worry about her next fall. The most important thing I can do is eliminate fall risks in her life. One of those risks involves getting into and out of cars as she goes to doctor appts and other important places in her life. Prior to getting these door handles for the car, I held out my hand and helped her to her feet. But I didn’t know if I should pull her up or hold still and let her pull herself up. I always felt like I might be ripping her up out of the seat and disorienting her.Before letting her use this door handle, I tested it myself. I leaned on it heavily to lift my 175lb. self to my feet. It worked well and gave me confidence in the device.As it turns out, she likes this door handle better than my personal assistance because she can move at her own pace. She wants one in all the cars she rides in (my brothers and sisters). I suspect any model of door handle would suffice, but I chose this model because it is lightweight, strong, has a nice grip, and is plastic coated to it doesn’t scratch my car. I still hold onto her when she stands, but only to steady her.The end result is that my mom loves the device and I love that it reduces the risk of falling. This was a good choice.

Am I Old? No, that can’t be it!
These car handles are a lifesaver for anyone with a high-clearance vehicle, like my ID Buzz van! The ground to seat distance is a whopping 3 feet, which can make getting in and out a real struggle.These handles are so simple to use. My parents have aged and both require assistance with mobility (1 with a walker, the other with a cane). Getting out of a car can prove difficult as there are no handles to hold for stabilization as they go from sitting to standing. This bar is small enough to be out of the way when not needed and quick and easy to insert when they are ready. Itâs stable and doesnât give way as they put their weight on it to pull to a standing position. Such a great idea and very helpful!

Better shaped car door handle than others around
Years ago I got one of these car door handles for my mom. It works well enough, although I had to wrap duct tape around the metal part that slots into the door latch loop. I ordered these two car door handle helpers, and the design is much improved. The part that slots in is shaped better and bent at a 90 degree angle. so it won’t scratch the car when inserted or removed. the handle has a great striped colorful grip so the person can feel they have a secure and comfortable hold. I am so glad I got these! Highly recommend.
