Strong magnets and a nice toy/pen
A nice fidget toy, straight out of the box I tried out the pen and it writes quite nicely. I know another reviewer said it was too heavy and wobbled if you held it lower down. For me the weight was nice, and I naturally held it on about the second magnet and felt no wobble at all, I moved my hand down to the fifth magnet which felt an uncomfortable place to hold a pent to write but I could still write well and legibly with it with no wobble.To play with it and the other magnets you obviously have to take the pen apart, which is what you would expect it’s a fidget pen, not a magnet pen and extra fidget toy. It comes with some balls of different sizes, two ink refills both of mine were black as was the one already in the pen, and two things they call refills but I think this must be a printing error as they are clearly to go on the end of the pen so you can use for touch screens. However, I’m not sure this is a good idea. These magnets are pretty strong and although you could use the touch screen pads, if you accidentally dropped the pen onto your phone or tablet or just absent mindedly let the magnet end near it would probably cause damage.All in all it’s a nice fidget toy, if given to older kids (I would keep it away from younger kids) you should warn them of the dangers of putting it near electrical devices.

3 star for the pen, 4 star for the magnets
I couldn’t decide between a 3 and a 4 star rating. The pen is a 3-star in my opinion, and honestly it seems more like a gimmick than a useful addition to the magnet set. It writes ok for me, but the pen is heavier and thicker than what I’d want to use on a regular basis. Also you have to grip the pen (and especially the stylus) really close to the bottom, or the pen will be too wobbly at the point to use. Which means that some people won’t be able to use this as a pen very well at all. And you can either have this as a pen or a fidget/creating toy, but not both. So when you want to use the set as a fidget, you have to have someplace to keep the ink cartridges, and when you want a pen, you have to have someplace to store the balls.The instructions aren’t all that good. The stylus ends are called “refills”, and if I hadn’t seen the Amazon description, I wouldn’t have known what they were. Also at least three of the figures on the back can’t be made with one set’s worth of magnets.Now for the 4-star part. The magnets are fun to play with if that’s your kind of fidget. One of my ADHD family members really enjoyed messing around with them and creating things. I also have ADHD, but I found not knowing which side would connect vs repel every time I picked up a new piece to be somewhat frustrating. I tried just moving the pieces around in my hand(s) like I would with other fidgets, but I dropped a ball a couple of times and they rolled under furniture. So this type of fidget/toy would be great for some people, but I’m going to see if my family member wants it because it’s not that interesting to me.

Surprisingly fun
I’m still deciding how much I like this fidget pen honestly. It’s not exactly what I thought it was going to be but that is not bad or good. I had the idea that it would be an ‘easier’ thing to fidget with as a functional pen but obviously it’s still a pen so you have to disassemble parts to actually play with it. I feel dumb typing that out because it does seem so obvious now but moving on…. The materials used in this pen are phenomenal! The magnetic pull between pieces is amazing and you can absolutely create some fun things as a fidget and to fidget with it. I don’t know that I will ever really use the pen part because of the take apart and put together aspect of it all but the fidget aspect far outweighs that for me anyway.The set comes with a card that has some different ideas(pictures) you can make which is fun and if you DO use the pen part it has a refill included too. I love all of the parts and options that it comes with, the feel of each individual piece is great as is the pen itself when put together… heavy in the right way and great color too by the way, this is fidget pen is all quality materials. Overall it’s a fun idea and a terrific option for fidgeting.

Idle hands and all that jazz
First off I got this through the vine program but that in no way impacts my review of the product. I typically do not know the price of the item and I use that to provide a number I might pay for it.Iâm not sure what I was expecting from this particular item, but it certainly impressed me. Iâm the type that has a lot of fidget type things around my desk that I fiddle with during meetings and just to keep my hands from being idle. I expect this one to join the army of other items I have for this purpose. Iâm not sure itâs really practical as a pen because you have to take the whole thing apart to add in the ball bearings and make your little shapes, so Iâm not sure how much I will be using it as a pen. I guess you could, but itâs kind of heavy for that purpose. It wouldâve been nice if the pen tip was just one chunk of the Barrel itself although that would mean very little ink. All in all, itâs a fun little gadget, the tinker with.I would recommend this product, especially for anyone like me who has ADD or likes to fidget with things. My rough guess on the retail value is $10-$15. I probably wouldnât pay more than that.
