I have problems with my neck going to physical therapy where one of the exercises is using a roller, but shorter with smaller diameter and softer plain, no pattern surface. When I saw this one, I decided to try it. I ordered the orange color, so my wife would be more willing to try it as well. The color is more important to ladies than guys. It did not have a manual, but suggestions for exercises are printed on the cardboard box in which roller came. I have also occasional pain in the lower back. So far, I tried this roller on both, my neck and lower back areas. Very simple exercise, I was laying on my yoga mat with roller under the neck or lower back and rolling it back and forth about 10 times. I suggest to you be careful at the beginning because this roller is much harder as it would imply to you from the picture. I was pleasantly surprised how it gave me almost immediate relieve. I realized that I was walking afterwards with my spine straitened better. Good, because that is what they are trying to teach me all the time in my therapy sessions.

Compact, solid, and lightweight
This foam roller is working out very well for me, because it is compact and doesn’t take up too much space. I got this to keep at my place of work, where after standing or sitting for long periods on end make my back hurt. This roller is quite effective at helping ease some of that tension, and is small enough to not be in the way or take up too much space in the office. Some of my coworkers have also been using it and have had great things to say, as well. I am around 5′ 7″ and 150 pounds, and this roller is still large enough to accommodate me easily. I am quite happy with it and would recommend this to others.

This is a hard roller
The product listing says foamBut his is hard plastic with 1 mm of foam on top the thin layer of foam makes no difference.This hurts when you roll it on your body

Decent quality, but pretty short
I’m kind of on the fence about this item. I do like it, but I also feel that there are some issues.It is deeply textured which is great for deep tissue massage. But it’s definitely not great for beginners as putting your whole weight on it (as suggested in the listing and box graphics) is pretty painful because of how deep the grooves are. I imagine it would be quite easy to cause bruises in more tender skin, and because of that I would love if more instructions were included. I don’t really feel like some graphics printed onto the box is enough to show me how to use this.My other issue is that the roller is difficult to use because of how short it is. It’s okay for arms and legs, but super awkward for hips or shoulders. This issue is exacerbated when being used by someone taller or larger than average.I am giving this product 4 stars because it is decent quality, and it does work. If half stars were allowed, I think this would be more of a 3.5 for me because of the issues I’ve stated.At time of writing this foam roller is listed at $29.99, which is an okay price for what I received, but I personally feel is a bit high. Especially when considering that if I were to purchase again, I would definitely be looking for a roller with a bit more length.
