I purchased a 36â and 18â foam rollers- these are nice firm but these rollers have a little soft give and they are the best I have ever used. They are effective yet are not painfully firm. I would caution to open them carefully as the foam sits close on the ends of the boxes- and if you were to use a knife or razor cutter to slit the box open you certainly could cut into the foam. I had read this on other reviews and was extra careful opening mine. There isnât a âhey you be careful cutting into meâ warning on the box- so for the overly excited box opener type- the foam could get caught in the process.

Porous Foam and Leaky Blue Dye
The roller is made out of foam that is porous and leeches dye. As soon as the product arrived, I wiped it down with some paper towel and Seventh Generation household cleaner because I wanted to make sure it was clean before using. A bunch of blue dye came off onto the paper towel, and after several rounds of cleaning, the dye that came off lessened, but didn’t totally stop coming off. Not only is this creepy because who wants blue dye staining their skin, but additionally, however “non-toxic” this roll is, the dye is a synthetic pigment that I don’t want my body to have to come in contact with and filter out.Because it is porous, it will be difficult to disinfect and clean.The roller is firm, but has a little bit of give to it. I like the foam density as it is now, but will report back if the foam deteriorates over time. I’ve used it for massaging my legs and back after yoga. It’s too soon to tell whether it helps, but I’ll report back again if I notice a miraculous change.To deal with the dye leeching problem, I covered mine with some cotton spandex cloth. This solves the problem, but the product shouldn’t have done this in the first place.

Working constantly at a desk, I tend to lean my shoulders inward and feel pain and inflammation from my daily work. Using a foam roller like this one is a very efficient way to relieve the pain. I position the roller on the floor and I lay on it so it is lined up along my spine and then I open up my arms as far down as I can. It works magics.This is my second roller. The first one was of a lower quality and I eventually broke it. This one is firm yet with a bit of cushion in it. It feels great and seems to be robust enough for the long run.
