Customers find the thermometer works well and is incredibly accurate, with the ability to set temperature notifications and monitor both temperature and humidity. The device is ultra easy to set up, and while some report good WiFi connectivity, others experience frequent disconnections. The battery life receives mixed reviews, with some reporting dramatic improvements while others find it miserable, and the app quality is also mixed, with some finding it user-friendly while others describe it as terrible. Value for money opinions are divided, with some considering it the best for the price while others find it not worth the cost.

Excellent for monitoring pets in an RV
I could not be happier with this monitor. It was very easy to set up and worked flawlessly to keep us informed on the temperature in our motorhome. The wifi at the RV park where we were staying was fairly weak, but this connected quickly and never had an issue dropping the signal. I cannot believe how well this works for the price. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Govee for the win!!
This product has been a fantastic addition to my home! I have a “She Shed” that houses a very expensive industrial laser engraver, as well as other expensive pieces of equipment. Constant temperature monitoring is vital, as dropping below freezing will cause the laser tube to crack, which is an $1800 mistake. After having that situation happen last year, while using a bluetooth temperature monitor from a different company, I started looking for something different. I love Govee products, so naturally, they were my first choice. The WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity make it easy to check readings remotely through the app, and the alerts are super helpful for keeping conditions stable. It works exactly as I need it to, and it is incredibly accurate. Highly recommend!!

Replace all the Batteries. Then these are very good to excellent.
We bought 5 ($75 each) of these in December, 2018 to monitor our summer house during the winter, and make sure we did not loose heat from our old boiler. After some work, I got all 5 to work. Left town, and headed for warmer weather. At first they all worked, and I was glad to see the data. Over the course of 3 months, they all disconnected one by one. By the time the last one failed, it was March, 2019 and we were past the high risk winter temperatures. When we returned to the summer house, I saw that the displays were still working but no connection. I simply put them all in a drawer. In late October, 2019 it was time to get the house ready for winter again, and I decided to check them out before finding another brand. All the displays were dead. I tested each of the original batteries, and found readings from 0.01v all the way to 1.00v. Like a bunch of random numbers. Good batteries do not run down like that. These were clearly really cheap batteries. I replaced all 15 batteries with new Kirkland AAA batteries that I already owned. Those all started at about 1.59v. All 5 units instantly jumped back to life, automatically reconnected, and started reporting data again. They were all as good as new, and and fully wifi connected. No need to re-program.Moral of the story is to throw away the included batteries as step one. Put in 3 high quality batteries. I suspect the batteries are the source of many many problems people are reporting. Not sure how much time to expect, but 5 or 6 months is all that I really need to have. I will buy one or two more, depending on whether or not wifi can reach the garage. That allows me the ability to see temps in every cold corner of this large house with radiant water heat in wooden floors. With more than a mile of copper / water pipes in wooden floors, I can not allow the house to ever ever freeze. These work great, with great reports. They just need a good power source.

Excellent, Inexpensive Monitoring
Purchased three of these to monitor the temperature at our church. They were deployed a month and a half ago, have a strong connection to wifi and are set to refresh every 30 minutes. Battery life is excellent – they are only down one bar. They have been reliable and are reasonably in line with our hvac sensors. I purchased these so we could better see the trend lines in temperature change and get alerts for temps outside center parameters. They have worked well. I have two minor complaints (thus taking away one star). I would like to be able to adjust the settings remotely. That does not appear possible unless you are in Bluetooth range. The second issue is when first set up, they worked on wifi for a short time then needed to be reconnected. (They have worked fine since then). It is an odd glitch. However, these are excellent devices and Iâd recommend them to anyone. We will probably add a few more and look at other Govee products. These are dead simple to setup and have worked well.

Works Great
We use this to monitor the temp inside our RV while we are gone and leave our dogo behind. Works well, set up is a breeze push notifications warn us if it is getting too warm or cold inside the coach so we know the little guy is comfy and safe. We travel full time so this gets a lot of use. High recommend

Downgraded Review. Not reliable over WiFi.
I purchase three of these units over a couple of years. Initially I liked them ams all worked. I used the to monitor temp and humidity when boing back and forth between two homes since I wanted to be able to know my HVAC systems were working properly when I was away for months at a time. I now have to conclude that I can no longer trust them. They may be fine When you are in Bluetooth range, both they are totally unreliable over WiFi when I am out of town and need them most. Two units at one location failed to reconnect with WiFi. Even though they had good WiFi signal and sufficient battery power. The first unit that I purchased and that I had at another location worked fine for over a year, and suddenly it stopped communicating by WiFi on Oct 12. Nothing I can do remotely will reconnect it or refresh it. Even though it says it has been refreshed, it will not display any data past Oct 12. The batteries are good and it is in the same location it has always been at in that home. WiFi signal is good. But it is now worthless to me. If I cannot rely on them to stay connected, they are really worse than useless. Govee replaced one of the units, but I am no longer willing to keep trying after this latest experience. Fortunately I have another WiFi temp and humidity monitor from another company and both of them continue to work flawlessly. I was intrigued by the Govee since it was smaller and I thought I would add more monitoring locations without needing to run a 120VAC line. But without now being a le to leave town and have confidence in them, I cannot recommend them. The concept is fine, but there is definitely a product design issue. My advice is to look elsewhere. I am fully familiar technically with such products and the WiFi in both locations is very fast and is not the proble. I have no issue monitoring my other devices remotely. Just the Govees.

The hardware is great, no doubt. It does what it was designed to do but I cannot link it to Google Home whether I reset the device or Google itself.
