Great at immobilizing a bad knee
This is so sturdy and solid, it totally keeps the knee protected when I’m golfing or walking. Actually I bought an XL originally because my knee measured 17″; however I found it was really too tight, particularly when I tried to pull it off after a hot golf day. So I then ordered an XXL. It’s a tiny bit too big however with the velcro straps, it fits perfectly and is easy to pull off. If your measurement is borderline, buy the larger size. I’m definitely taking this to Europe with me next month when we’ll be doing a lot of walking

Perfect Support and Fit
I don’t know what any of the less then 5 star reviews received but this is obvious in the photo that it does not open up. I measured my knee and ordered accordingly- Perfect fit. Tore ACL and Meniscus Tuesday night working out. Had a less supportive brace until this arrived Friday and was extremely unstable. Remained as active as possible after injury to maintain flexibility so no crutches. Once I put this on tonight it was amazing. In fact you have to be careful that you do not get over confident due to the support. Some reviews stated the brace did not prevent hyper-extension … False! The hinges lock in the forward/straight leg position. This is an amazing brace that allows straight forward mobility. Will be able to get back to working out and maintain muscle size and flexibility until I can receive surgery. To top it off, the price is excellent. I am amazed how great I feel. Thanks to McDavid for the product and Amazon for excellent price and Prime delivery/service.

Perfect function, but not for all-day use
Let me first note that I have listed the sizes of this brace below as they are not given in the Amazon product details. Correct sizing is very important for this product!I have torn a torn menicus in both knees and arthritis that causes pain in my posterior cruiate ligaments. I work on my feet all day as a meat cutter and usually do fine with Futuro wrap-around braces. During busy holiday times, it is common for me to work 12+ hour days, and the Futuro product doesn’t provide enough support for that extended period of time.The support from this brace is so good that from the moment I put it on, the pain is gone – completely. Why, then, only 4 stars? Because the brace cannot be worn for a full day. The package states that it should not be worn for more than 2-3 hours. I have worn it for as long as 6 hours, but by that time I’m experiencing weakness in the back of my leg and numbness in my toes. My solution has been to start my day with this brace and then, after about 4 hours, switch to the Futuro brace.The brace runs larger than other braces with the same size designations (e.g., size Large for this brace is any other company’s size X-Large). You definitely need to measure your knee circumference before ordering this brace. The size designations are as follows:(Knee Circumference followed by size)12 – 14″, Small14 – 16″, Medium15 – 17″, Large17 – 20″, X-Large19 – 22″, XX-LargeMy knee measures 17″, and because there is no size overlap at that measurement, I ordered an XL. When I got it, the top of the brace was too large around my thigh, so it folded over itself when I would tighten the strap. I had to return it for a Large which just fits. It fits tightly enough, in fact, that I don’t even need to tighten the straps. I would liked to have seen the Large at 15 – 18″. Perhaps then I wouldn’t experience the circulation restriction that seems to occur. If the brace were such that I could wear it all day, I would have certainly have given it 5 Stars.

PERFECT brace after knee injury!
This brace is incredible! I dislocated my patella 4 weeks ago and haven’t been able to walk since. I’m waiting for my insurance to kick in and I really wanted to try some weight baring exercises and walking with crutches. Since my insurance hasn’t kicked in yet, I cannot say for sure what happened when I dislocated my patella, but I’m thinking there could be a meniscus issue and an ortho I spoke to seems to think I could have torn my hamstring and ACL based on my symptoms. Let’s just say-I was in a world of pain.I put this brace on and I felt instant relief and support! It’s actually a very snug neoprene sleeve that slides on over your foot and the straps help it stay in place. It does not budge! The package says to only wear it for 3 hours at a time while walking, but I wore it for 6 while lounging around so it would conform to my knee. The next day, I was walking with crutches and even going down stairs-again, with crutches.I cannot recommend this brace enough! The hinges are silent and glide perfectly, the sleeve design keeps it from cutting off circulation and the straps ensure a great fit!

DIY skills needed if unlucky
The stability and pain relief is great, but with some drawbacks. Due to the design of the pockets the springs are snug fit into, the seams on the bottom pocket have already given out. It hasn’t even been 6 months yet, and it seems it’s already falling apart, but thankfully if you know a bit of sowing or jarry rigging you should be fine? That design decision has to get looked over and redone in my opinion. Maybe I was unlucky with it’s production, but I don’t think I’ll buy this one again.

Very comfortable to wear and provides fantastic knee support and prevention from hyper extension. Expensive, but definitely worth it. Unfortunately will be getting another one for my other knee.
