Be consistent to see results
My son was experiencing many delays in speech and cognitive/executive functioning- I did A LOT of research and decided to start him on a DHA/Omega, in a addition to Inulin and Olive Oil. This has really helped my son’s progress with speech and executive functioning. I mix with a little bit of orange juice and he has no issue taking this nightly. I have not experienced the fishy smell, however I do refrigerate even though its not required. You will not see results overnight, it takes time. He has been taking this daily for 6 months and the progress was very noticeable 3 months in.

There’s no fishy taste but does have an after taste if you don’t chase it with something else. I’ve used it on my Autistic son for about 2 weeks now and I do notice him being more verbal. Singing songs!! He is nonverbal and would try to imitate the songs and can’t say the words correctly but now he can pronounce it to where you can understand him!

*** updated: WOW! Okay, so, it took a few weeks. Iâm guessing as the product ages and has contact with air, thatâs when the fish smell really hits. Now we canât escape it. Everything smells, the closet it was stored in, my sonâs bedding, our dryer, anything it touches. We had to discontinue use. Iâm still keeping my review at 5 stars because the product does its job.. (and people need to see the shift that happens with use) but you have to be able to deal with the forever fish smell.. so itâs a trade off. We couldnât hack it. Itâs been over two weeks without it and Iâm not sure the fish smell will ever go away on his blanket.Original review: I noticed some of the reviews were for other products so I wanted to note that this review is for the â Nordic Naturals Childrenâs DHA Xtra, Berry Punch – 2 oz for Kidsâ.I almost did not purchase this product because people spoke of fishy tastes and smells and my son has high needs with autism and is very sensitive to foods with a very small food repertoire (which is why we need the fish oil).I just donât smell it. And I donât taste it either. To me, it tastes like pineapples. Right now we are at a .75 ml dose (we always start low and move up) and we give it to him mixed in a spoonful of applesauce. I always try his meds first (if supplements) and I was super nervous about gagging between the texture and anticipated taste.. and honestly, I thought it was good. So, I gave it to him and I could tell he was surprised by the texture change (compared to his other applesauce meds) but he licked the spoon after. Heâs taken it without issue for 3 days now. I make sure I wipe his mouth after incase Iâm just not smelling the fish⦠but even my husband said he canât smell it. Personally, I have a very strong sense of smell. I get nauseated easily. So, I was very nervous about how this would all go.. but I donât know.. maybe those with really smelly ones just got a bad batch?I canât speak to any effects yet as far as mood/focus/speech etc. Our son is vocal non-verbal and uses and AAC device (age 11). Thatâs not why we started this supplement though.. we just felt like he wasnât getting enough omega 3 with his limited diet. I only learned of these other possible outcomes when reading reviews. We use a total communication approach with him to help meet his wants and needs and arenât looking for any miracles, we just want our boy to be healthy and omega 3 is so good for you!Iâll update if we see any mood changes etc., but I just wanted to put it out there that Iâm just not smelling any fish.. at all. (If that changes Iâll update too!!)

We had a 7 year old starting a heart breaking spiral into a world of rage/anger and violence. After 2 days of taking this at 1.25ml he is a completely different kid. He’s now calm, relaxed and thoughtful. It sounds ridiculous to say this, I purchased this as a hail mary, but it has landed a huge touchdown. I bought this on the advice of a reddit post (that’s how desperate i was getting).I’m interested to see what his psychologist thinks – certainly there are some positive studies with ADHD and ASD children – but i was not expected anything like the results we received.Nordic naturals also confirmed that there is no gluten on the production line (important for my celiac friends).
