I just realized how great I had it with Optimum Nutrition – now I’m paying for it
I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for the advanced pre-workout since I just brought up this awesome product in my 1-star review of Gorilla Mode. You see, I’ve been using Optimum Nutrition products for a few years and I recently began using the advanced pre-workout which has done wonders for me; I really believe a good pre-workout can help you during intense workouts. Well, for some reason (stupid me!) I decided to try Gorilla Mode. I paid the $55 (40 servings) and I’m regretting it after only 3 days of drinking this stuff! I’m not going to spend this review talking about what I didn’t like about that product, but I want to share what’s great about this one. First, the ingredients! Not only do I feel the pump during and after my workouts, I’m also very focused and hyped about pushing my limits. I also enjoy the Beta-alanine because once I feel the tingling, I know it’s working. Second, the tastes are great; my only complaint is you have to really shake to make sure there aren’t any clumps. But even the clumps taste like candy.

Solid, But not the Best
I’ve tried Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Pre Workout Advanced, and it’s a decent choice. The caffeine kick is strong, which might be too much for some. However, I found it lacking in the pump department—it didn’t quite deliver that satisfying muscle fullness. If I were ranking, it’d come in second after Pre Jym. Overall, a good option, but not the ultimate winner. On my first day, I took a full scoop, and my heart felt like it might burst out of my chest—an odd sensation considering that Pre Jym has the same caffeine content without such effects. The tingling sensation is more pronounced with this one. Additionally, it lacks BCAAs, which are present in Pre Jym at the same price ratio. The flavor was neutral, not too strong or distasteful.

The Pre Workout Advanced is amazing compared to the regular version!!
I had been purchasing the regular version of Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard for about a year now mainly because it’s ingredient list is simple and to the point of what I wanted (caffeine and creatine) – when I saw this Advanced version on the site and decided to give it a try.Holy hand grenades this stuff is miles more effective (due to the additional caffeine and other ingredients) than the regular version. If you aren’t getting the same kick from the regular version, I’d highly suggest giving the Advanced version a try.It kicks in fairly quickly, I’d say in about 15-20 minutes post consumption. A full scoop is 300 mg caffeine which instantly perks you up, but did not give me that jittery/tingly feeling. The full benefit of this pre-workout comes half-way through your workouts (I usually do 60-75 minute weight lifting focused workouts). Typically at about the 45 minute mark, I’m absolutely gassed and have to struggle through the last 15-30 minutes, but not with this stuff… you can just keep going, seriously.I definitely also am seeing the “pump” more and able to crank out a last rep or two better than before so all in all, this stuff seems to keep my energy levels at a coasting high throughout the entirety of my workout, allows me to feel the “pump” more in my muscles, and gets me one more rep… which all equate to more gainz per sessions.Damn fine product. I’m a relative noob when it comes to pre-workout supplements, but others have told me that the ingredient list in this Advance version of the product is the tride-and-true formulation of pre-workout powders that other (much more gimmicky and expensive) brands have been using for years.Buy this.
