Perfect – Way better than any others
I bought a couple of different baldders. Offbrand and name brand. They all tasted like chemicals/plastic. Disgusting. I have a Platypus water filtration set and really like it so I thought Id try this. It’s fantastic. I’m not sure how people are complaining about flow rate. They probably don’t have the valve open correctly. Or it’s pinched.Flow rate – FantasticTaste – Very minimal that went away after a couple of uses.Leaks – None at allEase of filling – Very easy to fill while left in my bag.Ease of cleaning – Can’t get my hand all the way down, but I can’t in any other bladder either. The mouth opens wide enough that cleaning and drying is easy.Bit valve – Doesn’t leak. Allows good flow. Comfortable to bite on/use. Sturdy.Overall there really isn’t anything that I DONT like about it. A hose cover wouldn’t have hurt my feelings, but not a big deal. I guess the one thing I don’t like is the price. Plastic tube, welded plastic baldder, and a bite valve can’t cost more than a few bucks to make in bulk. Almost $40 retail is a hell of a profit margin and does rub my sensibilities a bit wrong. But compared to similar options at the same price point… I’d pay it again.

Great bladder, a little wide
I looked up some product reviews on other websites before buying this hydration bladder, and it got high marks in all categories. Amazon had the second best price, along with the best return policy.I wanted it to fit into the bladder pocket of a fairly small day-pack I’ve got that I love and use often. Reviewers described it as the most durable bladder with the quickest water flow, and no funny taste. It was also described as a little wider than most others with the same capacity, and the easiest to clean because of the wide mouth at the top (instead of a screw-on cap, like most others).I agree with all of it. I LOVE it! But just be ready – it is a little wide. Not a problem for me – with a little effort, it fits into my pack snugly and doesn’t wiggle around. But measure your pack carefully (like I did) before you buy it. 😉

Great Quality Product!
Lives up to the Platypus Taste-Free promise. Nice and large- we chose the 2-Liter instead of 3, so it would fit in a pack we already had. Great water flow. Good quality fittings. American company.We also bought an insulating sleeve for it. Was very tight to get on since this has a high flow hose which may be wider than others.We also bought a magnetic clip, which was a tight fit around the hose again, but worked well to hold the mouthpiece where we wanted it.

It works
I have had a good experience with this replacement water reservoir for my hydration backpack. This was my first time with the wide top type. I like it. After reading other reviews, I rinsed with a mixture of water and vinegar and then several rinses of plain water before using. Make sure you click the open switch on the tube so you can rinse out the tube. One extra step than Iâm used to. Iâve read that with the wide top that a lot of bladders can be turned inside out to wash and dry, however the way this is designed with the middle cinched prevents that with this one. But overall I like it. I like the cinching because it makes it easier to fit in the pack without getting too big in the middle so you can fit more stuff in your pack. No leaks so far after a few uses. It just tastes like normal water to me, so no taste issues. My only slight irritation is how long the drinking tube is. I have to clip it to my belt and so it irritates as I hike. Not sure where to clip it so it wonât irritate. Itâs just a really long tube.

Hooray, It does Not leaks!
Great hydro bladder. Filled it to almost the top and turned it upside down, No leaks! Easy to fill up and lightweight. Not very easy to clean but I will figure it out. The last $12 hydro bag I purchased was a disaster and leaked everytime I went to tie my shoe. Water poured out on top of my head and back. Then the access water dripped out the bottomed of my backpack all down my back and butt. It kept me cool but not hydrated. This bag works perfectly, you definitely get what you pay for.

Durable, never leaks
I had a previous bladder that was hard to close, so I’d get out on a trail and find my whole pack soaked and no water. This one has 100% solved it. I’m not easy on bladders – they get put into a climbing gear bag (in a separate compartment) where it gets squished and banged, but so far has been 100%. I love the close, and I got the added cap for the mouthpiece – has been completely worth the investment.

Remarkably durable.
When I got my first Platypus, I had only ever had CamelBak bladders before, so I was used to the silicone-type construction. The Platypus did not seem as durable and I expected to have to replace it within a couple of years. I could not have been more wrong. I’ve had the same one for 10 years now, and use it constantly–probably at least once a week on average. I’ve replaced the bite valve once or twice, and the hose once, but the bladder itself is seemingly indestructible. I also find it easier to open, fill, and clean than CamelBaks.

Everything is great about this, except that the âhandleâ securing the opening cannot be used to hang/secure the bladder. This means it falls down in the backpack instead of hanging, and sometimes causes the tube to pinch. Not a huge problem, but somewhat disappointing. I would still highly recommend it.

Has held up for 2 solid summers of hiking. This fits perfecly in my Zephyr 25L MEC pack. I love it! The mouth piece that you ” bite for flow” has started to leak, however, there is a valve right there at the mouthpiece so its easy to turn off and stop flow.
