Spa Facials at home
This portable face steamer can give you the same facial steam treatment that you can get at spas, at a fraction of the price, the plus side is, you can do this anytime at home, without having to schedule and drive out for a Spa day. Just fill up the tank with distilled or purified water (has to be mineral free to keep the system from getting clogged up), and the one of the on/off buttons trigger the hot steam while the other turns the steamer on/off. I think it uses the vibration disk to ionize the water into mist (like those cool humidifiers) because as soon as you turn on the steamer, the steam pretty much instantly comes out, and does not require any wait or heating up times. The heat function takes about a minute to activate fully and gives you a nice warm mist (unfortunately, there’s only an on/off function, so the temperature is not regulatable, so if you feel it’s too warm, just position the steamer a couple inches higher, so that the mist can cool a bit before it gets to your face).

On the box containing this facial steamer, there are warnings stating that, among other things, persons with âallergies,â or various skin conditions, should not use this product. These warnings do Not appear in the listing, so I am stuck with this product that I cannot use. Very disappointed.

This is such an amazing facial steamer. I love that it is compact, and you can take it on vacations or work trips with you. Just place this in your suitcase and off you go. Easy to use. Directions are pretty simple. It helps dry skin that the harsh winters will bring. My face gets so dry. This has helped tremendously! If the machine runs out of water it will automatically shut down. You will love this product. Makes a wonderful gift as well.

Stopped working after 3 uses?
Well if I had written this review after my first use, it would have been a glowing 5 stars. BUT since it stopped working after only 3 uses, this is really annoying as I really liked it.It heated up quick and the steam that was produced was a very fine mist which I liked. I had also seen that you can use facial steamers on your hair and scalp as that the steam helps that as well.Well this is going in the trash. Not a happy camper.

Takes a bit to get going and the first few uses had an unpleasant plastic odor
This appears to be a well built facial steamer – though I’m a bit unclear on some of the features.First, some minor assembly is required (simply inserting tubes and an end piece). The instructions were barely legible to these old eyes, but I managed to figure it out without too much problemThe unit also comes with a package of small ‘filters’ – they resemble a cigarette filter. There is no explanation as to what to do with them, or the purpose the serve… however, the end piece has a small holder for them, and they jut out into the steam – so I assume these are to help spread the steam (actually, I have no idea what purpose they serve).The unit also came with an aluminum case with a number of high quality tools for getting rid of facial acne, black heads, etc. Very nice inclusion.Now on to the unit. Filling it is a bit obscure. You lift the lid, but you need to remove the soft plastic plug. The lid does not go up as far as I would like, causing me to spill water while filling (it also drains fairly slowly into the base unit so don’t put too much water in the top till it drains). You need to reinsert the soft plastic plug before use (I assume).Turning on the unit… it took a good three or four minutes for there to be some activity in the water, and another good two or three minutes for steam to actually come out the tubes. However, when it does come out, it comes out good and fast and is very, very hot – so effective.There is another switch named ‘ozone’ – which as far as I can tell, simply lights the unit from the base so you can see the water better. I don’t believe there is any actual ‘ozone’ being produced (if so, I couldn’t smell it).However, what I could smell was plastic. And that odor stuck with me for a good 20 minutes after each use. It was quite unpleasant – and I’m unsure how many uses it would take for that to dissipate.tldr: Solid construction, nice tools included, lousy instructions, included items with no explanation, nasty plastic smell during first few uses.
