Actually works – you won’t be known as “the guy that wears natural deodorant”
This is a non-toxic anti-perspirant that actually works. The joke is that people who wear “natural deoderant” always smell bad, but I think this one is the exception rather than the rule.The key for me with this one vs. all the other “natural” options is that this one is actually an anti-perspirant and not just a deodorant. I personally can’t stand the dripping sensation I get when wearing a standard deoderant, and I hate pit stains. This has neither. I apply this one time in the morning and then all day I literally never feel any moisture in my pits, no matter how hot and sweaty I get or how much exercise I do during the day.So then the question is does it actually block odors? I have had multiple friends and family smell me and they all say that I smell good and don’t have any BO, and I can’t smell it on myself, so I have to believe it really works.If I had any downsides I would say I don’t love that it’s unscented, because it just smells like…nothing. That might be a plus for you depending on your preferences. Also it’s very wet and takes a bit of time to try out, so what I found is that if I apply it and then put my shirt on over top, I often will get some white residue on my shirt. I found the best way to apply is to put all my clothes on first, and then put this on under my clothes at that point.

Real Purity is the REAL deal!! Iâve tried at least a dozen different natural deodorants, with varying degrees of success, and lots of underarm rashes until I realized Iâm sensitive to baking soda. Thatâs actually how I came across this deodorant. Baking soda free natural deodorant options were fairly limited. Some I had already tried and was disappointed with, so I think I decided to try Real Purity because it said it was for sensitive skin because my pits still had the rash I got from the deodorant before I knew it was the baking soda all along. So that was enough for me to give it a whirl. I had little to no expectation that it would work the way it did. I was simply looking for an aluminum/ paraben, and later, sodium bicarbonate free natural deodorant that would do a decent job of preventing me from smelling like I worked my ass off at the end of a 12 hour shift, after working my ass off for 12 hours. Essentially, a natural deodorant that I could apply once in the morning after my shower, and would last through the entire day.Turns out itâs not so easy, but considering Iâve been using Real Purity exclusively for well over a year now, it was worth all the trial and error. This stuff works the time, and it works well. It doesnât cover up or mask body odor, because Itâs pretty much unscented, which is actually sort of weird when you look at the ingredients. But for the life of me I donât detect much of anything, or itâs so subtle that youâre imagining it. I donât know what alchemy and sorcery is at work here, but even when Iâve worked up a sweat and would be getting odiferous, Iâll remain a hot, sweaty mess, but my musk is so subtle that youâre imagining it. Thatâs my experience with it anyway. It seems that what works for some donât work for others, hence the dozen or so that were fails with my body chemistry before I found this.

Finally, an aluminum-free deodorant and antiperspirant that works!
I switched to aluminum-free deodorants years ago since I work in breast cancer research and there are potential links to aluminum in deodorants and breast cancer. Although some I had tried actually did work as deodorants pretty well (Island deodorant, Native, Arm & Hammer Natural, etc.), they were only deodorants but not antiperspirants so my armpits were perpetually wet (I live in Florida). These brands kept odor under control under normal circumstances but I always had visibly wet armpits on my clothes.I finally decided to research further to find an aluminum-free deodorant with antiperspirant properties. I came across Real Purity Roll-on and then researched the safety of magnesium stearate making sure that I was not just trading one metal (aluminum) for another (magnesium). Magnesium stearate is considered safe so I ordered this product. I was so surprised that after a day or so, the armpits finally dried up for the first time in years! I travel a lot for work and have had zero issues with this product. I do wish it was available in a non-liquid format because of my extensive travel but the dry underarms are worth it. It does go on wet and you do have to wait a couple minutes for it to dry. I have not had any transfers or staining on my clothing, no rashes or reactions whatsoever and I have very sensitive skin. It is fragrance free and I have had no odor issues since using this product no matter how much I sweat (did I mention I live in Florida, lol?)I have since reordered the product and have used the product for almost a year now so I thought it was time to leave a review. Although this product is considerably more expensive than the other products I have tried, one bottle lasts a very long time (about 6 months so longer than the stick deodorants for me) so it is well worth the price in my opinion.

Over the past 10-15 years I have tried more ‘natural’ deodorants than I could ever count and never, never have I found anything that I have enjoyed using, that has been as effective and that I would 100% recommend as much this one. For me at least, it really is the very best deodorant I have ever tried, natural or otherwise.What works for me about this deodorant is…that it works! It is a deodorant as opposed to an anti-perspirant so it neutralises any odour rather than blocking and preventing perspiration. It definitely does prevent odour very, very effectively for me and it isn’t just masking odours; it really does seem to be neutralising them. I am incredibly sensitive to fragrances in any form and there are few that I can tolerate at all. This deodorant does have a scent. Whilst I would class this as quite a strong, natural, unisex fragrance (think sandalwood, rosemary, geranium, lavender, sage) I find it quite pleasant, fresh and sophisticated. The fragrance dissipates after around half an hour or so, so even if you decide it isn’t for you, you really don’t smell it after this time. The effectiveness does not fade at all. I apply this first thing in the morning and never need to reapply, even in 30+ degrees heat.I am always concerned about possible skin reactions with any deodorant as I have diagnosed skin allergies and often react to essential oils as well as baking soda and a whole host of other ingredients. I have reacted to even the most benign-sounding, natural, supposedly kind-to-skin deodorant formulas. Not to this one! In spite of the essential oils, I have never had any reaction whatsoever, no itching, no redness, no dryness. I have absolutely no idea what kind of magic is in this stuff but whatever it is, it is worth every penny. Oh and that brings me on to the price……This may sound like quite a lot of money to pay for a deodorant but 1) I have actually paid much more for a deodorant (desperation does strange things to a person!) and found those other, more expensive deodorants either to be completely ineffective or to cause skin reactions or both, 2) you get a lot of product in this bottle and even after around 2 – 3 months of daily use, I have probably only used around 10% of the contents at most and 3) if I had just bought this deodorant years ago and saved on all of the cheaper deodorants I have bought while trying to find something that worked, I would have saved an absolute fortune. In essence, what I am saying is that this is absolutely worth the cost to me and my quest to find the perfect deodorant is over. This is deodorant perfection itself.
