Excellent product! (Review from someone who had to use it)
Went camping this past weekend and as I was collecting some fire wood, I slashed my leg on a tree root or sharp branch sticking out of the ground and I didn’t think much of it because 🍃nature🍃So when I got back to the campsite, I noticed the cut was pretty deep and I had blood dripping down my leg into my sock so I cleaned it and patched it up thinking some gauze and good old pressure would help stop the bleed but it bled through the gauze insanely quick. After taking a second closer look under the right lighting, I realized that the cut was a lot deeper , a lot wider and longer than I previously thought and I knew that I was going to need stitches. So I prepped it again and used a couple of the zip stitches, a gauze pad and gauze wrap the zip stitches sealed the laceration right up, the bleeding stopped, the pain subsided after a bit and I dodged any possible infection. Being a man I have hairy legs and that wasn’t an issue with the adhesive that comes on the zip stitches. when I got home after the weekend I took a shower and gave it a good wash and the adhesive didn’t budge at all. Overall excellent product especially if you hate needles like me.

    Could use a small upgrade.
As a wound closure kit, it is pretty comprehensive when compared to others on the market. BZK and alcohol wipes a plenty, gloves, shears, wound closures, pads, and one thing you usually won’t find; island style wound covers. There’s no sense in closing a wound if you can’t keep it clean, right? My one gripe with this kit is the wound pads. They really cheap out and give you woven pads, instead of non-woven. Not a big deal, right? Personally, if I’m covering a wound, I want something that isn’t going to stick to it and be a pain to change out if need be. Yes, I realize these kits are a temporary solution and if your wound is bad enough to need one of these kits, you should really have it checked by a doctor at some point. That said, though, at this price point, how about we provide better quality gear? Other than that gripe, I do like these kits. The ziploc style storage bag is nice and heavy, and everything is neatly packaged with a laminated “guide”. I think this is a nice addition to a backpack, or even a daily carry. I’ll be keeping one in my vehicle as I work around sharp tools and it will be nice knowing this is on hand, just in case.

    Great Wound Kit.
This is a must have for going camping or hiking. The stitches in this kit are great in place of butterfly bandages for minor, or even major cuts. I used them for a nasty gash I got a couple months back and the scarring was much more minimal compared to butterfly closures. Possibly even stitches. The dressings don’t come off until you wash them off or take them off. I bought 2 more after using because they are just that great. Rhino Rescue makes great stuff.

Finally included these in each of our First Aid Kits
We have multiple First Aid Kits – for our extensive hiking and camping – as part of our Camel water pack, as well as for our vacations and snorkeling adventures – and especially when professional medical assistance help is not close at hand. They have been more than just helpful on many occasions – taking care of many minor injuries and a few more serious occasions. If you agree that every adventure has the possibility of miss-adventure and you’ve possibly experienced a few, you know that when you need to a suture in the field little else will substitute.Whether you’re at home or, moreover in the field and faced with bleeding cuts or, lacerations – you want to simply get past wound cleaning and onto closure ASAP. And these No-Stitch adhesive adjustable sutures bring Emergency room trauma care right into the field.Along with replacing threaded suture needles and the experience one would need to use them – besides adding these adhesive sutures …wound cleaning / disinfection materials and ointments, surrounding wound-area drying (for best suture adhesion) and sterile wound coverings are among the other supplies you want to make sure are in your 1st Aid Kits in order to set the stage for these sutures to be most effective for many cuts and lacerations.Be sure to at least review (multiple times) the how-to videos each of the adhesive-suture manufactures provide on their in-field use. To make these supplies even more useful – know that in an emergency your ability to not just have these in your first aid kit – but be able to use them – is as important to their effective use as having them in the first place. For instance if you try to use these on non-dry-skin they will fail!On all counts in emergency wound care – you want to be aware of what materials you have on hand in your 1st aid kit – that all are within expiration date – and the probability of how soon there might be access to professional medical care.Per any online search of “lacerations” most Short Term Emergency care lists include, among others:1) Whenever possible – immediately be in communication with professional medical care – ask for instructions for immediate patient care – and follow the professional instructions given.2) Else the basic goals listed in caring for any wound are:• Be and stay calm yourself.• Reassure, calm and make / keep the injured individual comfortable – warm/cool as needed.• Slow / Stop any bleeding – using only as much pressure as needed to do so.• If possible elevate wound area above the heart• Avoid infection• Achieve the best wound care with the least scarring. To offer more than these basic instructions is problematic – but know that your personal experience, knowledge,1st aid training and 1st aid kit preparation to deal with accidents is always a positive when it comes to being of aid to yourself and others when they occur.
