The build quality seems good. You can add your choice of grip tape on the handles. The rubber tire smell dissipated for me after a week or two, but just something to be aware of if you have a sensitive nose and/or poor ventilation.

Great deal for 50 lbs dumbbells.
Theyâre dumbbellsânot much to be said. The material seems alright but maybe less dense rubber than those at the gym. That said, the rubber might not hold up to a lot of abuse, but as these are for your home gym they wonât be put through nearly as much use and abuse as those in a regular gym would. The grip feels decentâthe knurling dogs a bit compared to those at the gym, so Iâll probably try to use my gloves with these. Not much of a chemical smell either, which was a plus.After using several steel dumbbells and had the finish break off (once a metal piece fell into my eye and I had to fish it out!) itâs rubber coated for me for now on!

Exactly what I was looking for — not as smelly as I expected
After reading a lot of reviews, I was expecting a stronger rubbery smell to these, and was fine with it due to the price—But these had a very minor smell that was not bothersome at all…Like the smell I expect anything made of that material to have, but it wasn’t strong like I thought it would be. I love these weights and have been implementing them into my program! I think they’re a great deal for the price, and feel just like the weights I’ve used in the gym. Great quality for a steal.

Nice overall set 5-30# at $1.56 per pound
I received the Signature Fitness branded dumbbells, which was the 5-25 set and an added pair of 30s. The 25s and 30s came separately from the 5-20 box. All had some oil residue and odor, but the 5-20 box of dumbbells was far more oily and odorous than the sets of 25, 30. Overall they are good quality and look good. The 10s have some surface pitting on the rubber, but other than that, they resemble any other higher priced sets. The dimensions of all these are almost identical to the Rogue hex dumbbells, with 5.25â handles on all. The 25s and 30s are about an inch overall longer than Rogue, but exact on width. The weights were fairly accurate, but not dead on:5- 5.5#10- 10.1#15- 15.1#20- 19.7#25- 24.8#30- 29.9#I paid 235 total for all, because the Cap 5-30 was sold out, it runs 249, but has a stand included.

100 pounds of dumbbells arrived on time, and as described in customer reviews
A box with 100 pounds of weights seems like it could easily break and lose contents. This box contained plywood plates on the top and bottom to prevent such a mishap. The weights were also packed in pairs in smaller boxes inside the larger main box. So no contents lost. The dumbbells’ metal handles had a coating of oil that smells like machine oil, so I wiped them off, and am now waiting for the smell of the oil to dissipate like the customer reviews say that it will. Since these 8 dumbbells cost altogether only about $120.00, I’ll assume that these are concrete rather than steel weights, and will treat them accordingly so that they don’t get damaged. I wasn’t planning to be throwing them around or dropping them on hard floors anyway.

Absolutely awful smell. Wiped them down when received and aired them out for two weeks straight outside, on the balcony. That should get rid of the smell, right? This did NOT get rid of the awful smell. Brought them inside in the evening and it made the living room smell awful overnight. Unbearable smell that has no sign of going away.The black parts have weird pumps and the finish is uneven so when you press the dumbbells together, they don’t seamlessly rest against each other.The weight is not accurate at 20 lbs either.Do not buy. You think you are going to save a bit of money but if you want these for indoor use… Not recommended.
