How to Use
Two Sharpening Slot
Insert blade fully and vertically into appropriate sharpening slot at a 90 degree angle to the sharpener. Gently with light pressure pull the knife blade from heel to tip in direction of indicator arrows. Repeat above action until blade is sharp
Tapered Diamond Rod
Put end of the rod against the cutting edge of the serration or gut hook. Match grind angle. Push the rod through the serration or gut hook while applying moderate pressure and rolling the rod as you push. Repeat until cutting edge is sharp.Hone the serrations by pulling blade through No. 2 ceramic slot.
Fire Starter
Note: Only after you remove the outer black coating should sparks come off the fire stick as it scrapes over the No. 1 crossed carbide blades.
Fully insert the fire stick into No. 1 carbide slot and pull the fire stick quickly through the slot in direction of indicator arrows.Repeat pulling the fire stick through the slot quickly until the tinder ignites. Note: it may take a number of pulls the first time it is used to remove the outer black coating.
Emergency Whistle
Position lips over opening in upper left of product and blow vigorously.
Do NOT cover the air outlet on the top of product.

I use it a lot
Iâve sharpened all my blades with this. It is very compact and very easy to use. Itâs not heavy, and it is good at sharpening blades. Itâs pretty durable (surprisingly) and the grip isnât bad either. There are 2 sharpening options, the metal or the other option. The only thing I donât like is that the metal option kinda does a rough job with the blade. Itâs not a pretty finish. It does the job and makes it sharp, very sharp, but itâs not a pretty or smooth finish. Not smooth at all, in fact, after using this sharpener my blade kinda catches onto cloth. Again, it does its job very nicely. And itâs good for the price. If you really want whatâs best for your blades though, you might want to use stones or something else. This does not give a very smooth finish.

Small but effective
The sharpener was able to bring an edge on a difficult knife up to hair-cutting level, which is surprising to me because it was VG-10 i was trying ti sharpen. The honing works great as well, but if you want a more razor edge, it’ll take some more time and a lighter touch to hone it gently. The angle guide makes sure the edge is consistent and even,Safety wise the only danger it poses is my own grip going a little too far. Fits well into a small pocket for camping/hiking purposes.

We purchased a couple of these, sharing them with a few relatives who are intense hikers. We also purchased for ourselves and our survival kit. We live on the oceanfront and put in our Tsunami bug out kit. It has the all important sharpener aspect, but also a fire starter. A whistle, etc. Husband reports that the sharpener works very well on his pocket knife collection. Win/win. We probably all need one of these! Small, compact and easy to carry or put into a kit. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. All of my reviews reflect my honest, personal experience with the reviewed item – your experience may be different. I am not influenced by any outside source. I receive/accept NO free products or discounts that are not available to all shoppers- ever. For some reason our shopper ranks are no longer visible – so, to give you a little more info about me, I am a top 50 reviewer (#30 the highest rank achieved). Small product that packs a ton of value
This little sharpener is awesome. I’ve used it a ton since purchasing it. They really packed a lot of features in such a small product.Love that it has explicit directions engraved on it. The fishing hook sharpener is also a nice touch. Sharpened my pocket knives and tried it on a couple of my kitchen knives as well and it has not disappointed. Small enough to slip in a go pack or as a back up for knife sharpening needs. Not really any cons for the use case it has been designed for. Great value for money.

Molto ben fatto, funzionale, leggero e comodo. L’ho usato per affilare coltelli, per affilare la falce ed altri strumenti da lavoro. E’ economico, leggero e ben fatto, ha tutto quello che serve per affilare e tenere in funzione strumenti anche pesanti.L’affilacoltelli Victorinox fa esattamente la stessa cosa di questo: mangiando un po’ di lama rifà il filo. Non lo userei quindi su costosi coltelli forgiati ma lo uso su tutti i coltelli stampati che ho, soprattutto quelli da esterno! Prova del taglio carta superato anche dal falcetto!Insomma, affila bene, costa il giusto ed è pratico, un must per me!

I am not skilled at sharpening knives with a knife sharpener. This took a basic penknife and made it as sharp as a retractable penknife made by a well known manufacturer, in less than 5mins. I got sparks off the fire starter enough to show me it can be used to start a fire. It’s durable, light and portable.

Pequeño, portátil y cumple bien con su función principal. En lo personal yo lo compré para tenerlo en la cocina, ya que no requiero afilar cuchillos con tanta frecuencia y los afiladores de cocina suelen tomar más espacio. La caracterÃstica principal que lo puso sobre otros afiladores es el palillo para afilar cuchillos dentados y serrados. Tarda considerablemente más en afilar estos que cuchillos de hoja lisa, pero permite hacerlo sin maltratarlos lo cual es esencial. El chispero es algo complicado de usar ya que su punto de apoyo es pequeño y es difÃcil pasarlo con la velocidad correcta por las hojas del afilador sin angularlo, además de que es difÃcil apuntar dónde van a aterrizar las chispas. Aún asà podrÃa ser útil. El silbato de supervivencia es su peor función ya que apenas se escucha, aunque realmente eso no importa mucho ya que no planeaba usarlo para eso.En general es una excelente compra por su facilidad de uso para la función principal y la calidad de los materiales. Todo lo demás es extra.
