    Incredibly Helpful and Sturdy!
This standing aid is very well-built, stable, and gives excellent support when transitioning from sitting to standing. The foam handles are comfortable and easy to grip, and the adjustable height makes it great for different users. Assembly was quick and straightforward, and it feels super secure even on tile floors. Highly recommended for anyone who needs extra assistance at home

    Sturdy and Helpful
I had some difficulty putting this together; I couldn’t get the legs to be even and the directions weren’t that helpful. Once together though, it is very sturdy and helps my eldery parent get up from chairs. I’m happy with this product.

    Wabbled. No good – Returned : (
Unfortunately, this support “wabbled” due to a slight unevenness in the feet on the floor. I even took off the top portion, turned it around, and tried adjusting the fasteners several different ways, but to no avail – The wobbling continued. For a support stand, this is no good. (Maybe this stand would work better on carpeting? I tried it in our linoleum kitchen floor.)I bought another stand from “Support Way” that works very well, is of great quality, and I recommend: “Support Way Couch Stand Assist … Standing Aid Rail … Adjustable, Lightweight … https://a.co/d/0pYmFzV

The first thing I want to mention is that in spite of the illustration on the product listing page apparently showing two units, the order covers only one. I think the image of two is there solely to illustrate the different configurations. This product arrives adequately packaged in plastic bags inside a sturdy box. A single sheet of illustrated Instructions is included in the box.Even though there are times when I appreciate a little help in standing up from a low seat, my primary hope for this device was for use as a standing aid when I am cooking or doing other kitchen work. My height used to be just five feet, and one result of my disability is that I can no longer stand erect; my functioning height is probably closer to four feet. Add to that the fact that my arms do not elevate above waist level, and it is very difficult for me to work at the stove and the kitchen counter, since I need at least one hand at all times to help pull me up as tall as possible, as well as keep my body balanced, and most kitchen tasks require more than one hand. I visualized this device as something that could stand in front of my stove (for example), to support and prop up my torso, leaving both hands more or less free to work. And the device does in fact provide that help. It’s not perfect; I think it would work better for my purposes if it were wider. But it is a much appreciated aid. This item was relatively easy to assemble following Instructions that are mostly clear. A little more information would have been good, such as the fact that when attaching the middle section, it is not possible to make the longer piece conform to the height of the shorter piece, as I tried to do in order to have a finished product as short as possible. Instead, I found it necessary to install the longer tube first, and then match the shorter tube to that height. Other than that, I had no real problems. The pieces fit together easily, without the need for a second pair of hands or a lot of muscle. With everything properly tightened, I find the device to be quite stable. The horizontal bars are nicely padded in a soft, rubbery material. Even the “feet” have padding that prevents scratched floors, and eliminates the clatter of metal on floor. The assembled product is not heavy, but it is not so light that I would by choice reach for it instead of my cane, or (more likely) my walker. Even though I think the available use as a stair-climbing aid is clever and potentially useful, I will not (at least for now) be using it in that way. My stairs have a very solid railing, and the bigger stairs that go to the basement are equipped with a stair-glide type of device.Ideally, I would like to be able to remodel my kitchen to make it completely wheelchair accessible, but that kind of project is not financially feasible for me. That being the case, I am grateful for this device. It is doing a good job of helping me be able to enjoy continued independence in the kitchen. I think it is a good product.

The Retaoldth Stand Assist Aid is a very helpful aid for people who have difficulty getting up from a sitting position or assistance being stable while going up and down stairs. The aid arrives disassembled in a sturdy box. It comes with all the parts required and an instruction leaflet. You don’t need any special tools to put this aid together.Likes:- Easy to assemble, no tools needed to put together- Quite a sturdy construction and yet still lightweight- Soft and comfortable grips- Adjustable height- Legs are adjustable to be able to use this aid on the stairs (see picture)A critique was in the instructions there was no instructions on how to adjust the legs to use on stairs. I had to look at the ad listing again to see how the aid looked like and had to fool around adjusting the pegs for the legs to get the right height. The other critique I have is the pegs used to keep the aid together is made of a plastic casing with a metal peg. Should the plastic crack, it would most likely render the aid useless as there would be a faulty part keeping the aid together and most likely it wouldn’t be able to hold up under the weight of the person using it. There isn’t any indication where to purchase replacement pegs if needed.Overall, this aid is very helpful. For $99.99 CAD (at time of order) this wasn’t a steep price to pay to help my mom who was having difficulty getting up from a sitting position to a standing position after hurting her back. This aid let her feel independent and that she didn’t always have to ask for assistance.

Review for Retaoldth Stand Assist Aid for Elderly- Bed, Chair & Couch Stand Assist Bar Portable Lift Stair Assist Rail Mobility Aid for SeniorsThis mobility aid needs to be assembled. Instructions are included. The instructions are printed in English and in Spanish. This device is made in China. My elderly father lives with us. He is over 90 years old now and I’d like to encourage him to move around. However, with this winter, the snow is especially heavy and he is unable to get outside as much as he used to.This mobility aid will hopefully help him navigate the stairs more easily. I have also noticed that he struggles a little to get up off of the sofa. Hopefully this will enable him to be more active. The mobility aid is stable and works well. There are bars at different levels so it is easy to find a bar to grip to get up. The bars themselves are covered with a thick foam.I found the mobility aid most helpful for aiding in standing. I tried it on stairs. It was a bit fussier to use on steps. I mean, if the mobility aid needs to be adjusted to assist in walking and then to manage stairs in the same outing, it would be doable but a bit fussy to manage. The legs would need to be adjusted carefully to manage the stairs. Then readjusted for a flat ground. My brother’s house doesn’t have a stair railing at the front stairs. I could see that this would be helpful for my dad to get into my brother’s house. However, in this case, my father might find the mobility walker a bit heavy to swing up and down the stairs without help.Overall, I think this might make most sense for my dad as just an assistive device to get up from a chair.

Sturdy, easy to assemble support assist for seniors or anyone with disability, injury, post surgery, etc.Took me a couple of times to assemble it accurately, noticed it wasn’t balanced on the ground after my first round so I took it apart and started again – some tips to avoid any mistakes – ensure the feet stands are pointed outward when you get the assembly started. Knobs to tighten go on the inside of the stand assist legs. Rods are different sizes, use the picture instructions to ensure they are put on the correct side (it does make a difference) There are 4 pins – one of them is used to keep the right side highest rod stable at the desired height, other is to keep the shorter rod secure, and the top two are in line with one another to keep the handle bar stable.Tested this out and overall it’s pretty good – it can teeter a little bit so be mindful – putting your body weight on it to help yourself up is what really makes it sturdy. Adjust the height of the lower bar to your liking. Depends on the height of the furniture you are sitting on. Handles are all finished with a foam like cushioned support that is non slip. Overall this is great for seniors or anyone who has a small maybe temporary disability and needs a tool to give them back some independence. For the price point this is a win.
