Good blend of features
I bought the Teton Oasis day pack as a light pack for a variety of limited or impromptu outings. I also own a Teton Talus 30L pack which I use for full day or two of hiking trips. The Talus offers some features I like and rely on regularly, which Is why I considered the Oasis .The Oasis now is my answer to a limited quick grab and go, always loaded and by the door pack. It is lightweight, can pack down easily into a suitcase, pannier or duffel for transport, is well made and has adequate capacity to store what I would need for a nice day. There is ample opportunity to easily stuff or retrieve a rolled up rain jacket or fleece without going inside. The Oasis is comfortable for hours of wear, is utilitarian with opportunities to attach stuff on the exterior of the pack. My fav. The 3L water bladder is a nice feature too, but I will probably rarely need to carry that much water on an outing where I take such a small pack. Nice idea, but I would probably drop in a 1.5 or 2 liter bladder, or slip a Nalgene bottle in one of the side pockets. If Iâm heading out where I need to carry 3 liters of fluids I would be bringing a larger, more rigid pack and likely more stuff too. I would not consider using the 22L Oasis pack for an overnight as I would the Talus. Overall, the Teton Oasis pack is a small but convenient size, is well thought out and constructed, and fun to wear. I wish it had daisy loops, but I canât ding it for not having them. The Oasis will probably be my last day pack, unless t gets stolen by an envious passerby. Then I would buy it again.

18-Liter Backpack
I received this a few days ago but haven’t had a chance to try it out yet on the trail which is why I’m rating it 4-stars at this time.I love the overall capacity of it, as well as all the pockets. I think it will be a perfect bag for day hikes without being too big. I tested the hydration bladder for leaks and there were none. Yes it gives water that “plastic-y” taste initially, but I did clean it with a bit of dish soap, rinsed well, and let it air dry for 2-3 days and that took care of the weird taste. Also there are two outer side pockets that each fit a standard 16-ounce water bottle but they seem like they will fit larger bottles too.The shoulder straps are a perfect fit for me. I was concerned they might be too wide and uncomfortable, or hit in the wrong places based on what a few other reviewers with similar physical dimensions stated. Also the sternum strap and waist strap are adjustable and fit comfortably (for reference I am 5’3, 135, 36C).The medium size pocket in the lower middle section of the bag with the logo on it has three small buckle straps – one at the top of it as well as one on either side (see pics) so it can be unhinged. I wasn’t sure what the purpose is but my husband suggested it can be used to hold a jacket or blanket, or anything else along those lines. This backpack looks and feels like very good quality and I can’t wait to load it up and take it out on some Fall hikes.UPDATE 10-22-23:This is now officially a 5-Star backpack. I used it for the first time yesterday on a 14-mile hike and it was perfect! It was fully loaded and comfortable for the whole trek.I started out with the hydration pack full – no leaks, and the bite valve worked great. This is my first hydration pack and I sure appreciated the convenience of being able to drink water without having to stop during those times when I was only thirsty but not needing to stop. (now comes the fun part of cleaning the thing lol – but I bought a cleaning kit and some fizzy tablets, so we’ll see how that goes!)The backpack held everything I bring on a day hike, though I can see where the bigger 22-liter one wouldn’t be bad either for hikes in colder weather when I bring a heavier jacket, a few other light layers, and more food items. I actually might get one in that size too if I can get it at a good sale price. This is definitely a great pack from my experience with it so far, and I’d say get it if you’re on the fence.

Great pack at an outstanding price!
I picked up this TETON Sports Oasis 1100 Hydration pack to replace a bulkier standard backpack, and I couldn’t be more pleased with its performance, capacity, and looks. As an archaeologist, I subject my gear to very harsh conditions and usage. I am confident this pack will hold up for many seasons—it has already weathered many gnarly briar patches and “unintentional ground contact” incidents unscathed! In addition to being robust, it is also deceptively capacious. I have included an image that shows all I pack on my daily hikes, and there is still room in the pack for more gear that I only occasionally require such as a 4″ Marshalltown trowel, a file, small bottles of incidentals (Technu, peroxide, and calamine lotion), as well as found artifacts. I imagine it could hold even more were the bladder removed, but the hydration system is a must for me!After a couple of good washes, the bladder doesn’t have much of an aftertaste, the bite valve works well, and the tube is more than long enough for my needs. The length of the tube is, in fact, my only qualm with this pack as it is perhaps a bit too long and does not stay tucked into the bladder pocket very well. A small quibble, I know. Also, the pack is not quite as bright as it appears in the image (at least as it appears on my screen). It is a more subdued pumpkin seed-type color rather than blaze/hunter orange. I chose this color based on the desire for a high-visibility pack and was a tad disappointed by the color, but it should still function well with other high-visibility measures in situations where one wants to be seen.As a fairly large man (6’2″, 210), I was pleased that all the straps were more than adequate for my frame. The pack sits well on the back, and the mesh pads allow for some airflow and comfort while keeping one’s body heat from warming up the water too much. This is a great alternative to the much more expensive Camelbak packs (not a commentary on that brand’s quality, just a matter of comparison).Addendum: While there is a kitty in the image, she is not actually included in the list of items I carry everyday. However, she would probably fit in the pack with the pictured gear comfortably! (Please do not put your cat in your backpack.)

A good bag and a good bladder. But it’s let down by the pipe which kinks easily and the bite valve which is fiddly.

Iâve used this backpack several times since I received it, and itâs really terrific. Easily the best hiking gear that Iâve ever bought. Itâs perfect for the one day hikes, holding all the stuff you would need, snacks, keys, wallet, lunch, extra clothes, whatever. Excellent design with side pockets and a few zip slots on the front. It also has this great feature with one pocket section that folds down, and you can strap in a bigger item, like a jacket, towel, or blanket behind it. All this while having water to sip on the whole time. My girlfriend recently bought the Teton hydration pack (without the backpack part), and we found it was too difficult to share water, and not enough storage area for our day-trip stuff. This product easily solved the dilemma, now we bring both. A very well thought-out product, even the little details like a grab handle on the top, insulation panels around the water bladder, and mini pockets within some sections make this a five star product for me!
