A necessary purchase!
I have been using my bread machine for over 5 years, well before the price of bread sky rocketed. Needless to say I had become weary of seeing the same recipes. Not anymore! This is a must for those who want variety in breads. The recipes are down to earth with ingredients already in the pantry and details for 1,1 1/2 and 2 pound loafs. Tips and substitutions are listed and the print is easy to read. It does not matter if you are a beginner or experienced using a bread machine, this cookbook is for you. It would be nice if pictures were included, but for me it is no big deal. I have a cookbook collection of over 100 books and this one has become one of my top 5. Buy it now!

Extensive Collection of Recipes / Few Photos
First impression only, as I haven’t had time to try any of the recipes. I have been getting back into cooking at home more recently, and resuming breadmaking is on my list. I’d probably already be doing more of it already with the way that prices have gone up, especially on artisan-quality items. Our next door neighbor, who we often send over some of our soups, chili, etc. over to, is gluten-intolerant so she can’t enjoy most breads. I haven’t figured out a good recipe for a GF version yet. This cookbook doesn’t offer any options that way. I was hoping that it would.
Also, I am a visual person, and I was hoping for more photos showcasing what the bread loaves should look like. That’s the main reason for only four stars out of five. The only photographs are on the chapter heading pages. That’s disappointing to me.
As far as actual recipes go, most seem straightforward and without a lot of fuss about the ingredients. The collection of potential breads to make covers most any kind of pantry items you might conceive of to go into a loaf of bread. In the past I’ve had best luck with savory loaves, adding herbs for extra flavor and interest. I just bought a new jar of bread machine yeast, and I have flour on hand. Ready to get experimenting!

Great Recipes!!!
The Bread Machine Cookbook changed everything for me. I recently purchased a bread machine, and I was using the recipe book that was included with the machine. I was having so much trouble- The bread wouldnât rise properly, it would sink in the middle and there was one issue after another. I was getting pretty frustrated because I was following the recipes exactly. Then I purchased this Bread Machine Cookbook and everything changed! I have followed the recipes exactly and each loaf turns out great! I am so happy I made the purchase, and it was on sale too! It was a great purchase for me!

Love this book. Consistently great recipes.
I got a bread machine for Christmas and bought this to expand beyond the re ups booklet that came with the machine. I have made at a dozen different recipes and they have all turned out great. One note about sourdough. I tried to make a starter base using the very first recipe and not seeing that or reading that you have to feed the starter daily. It does not tell you that with the original starter recipe. She only mentioned that in subsequent versions of sourdough starter that she has in the book. So just be forewarned about that. Mine went bad and I had to throw it out. Also, I made a cornbread recipe that did not call for yeast and that didnât work out, but honestly, that was the only failure in the book. I really do love this book and I use it all the time.

Watch measurements carefully!!
I love the book and the fact that it gives most recipes for 3 different weights. However, today I was making the 2 pound Rosemary loaf. After mixing a bit it was a gooey sticky mess so I rechecked what I put in it and added several tsps of flour to try and stiffen up the dough. After rising, the gooey mess had gone over the pan and was stuck to the lid. In an effort to save the loaf, I took part of the dough out before the baking cycle started, but it still appears to be a lost loaf. It is heavy and dense. I noticed that the measurement for the water more than doubled for the 2 lb loaf from the 1 lb loaf. I compared it to other recipes in the book and it appears it should have been something along the lines of 1-1/2 cups of water and not 2-1/3. I have noted it in my book but will watch all the recipes more closely from now on.
