What an improvement!
I hesitated buying this item because of the small amount of reviews but Iâm so glad I bought it. Iâve been using this light for about 4 weeks and I feel 90% better. My anxiety and depression are so much better. In the past my seasonal depression has gotten worse every year. So much better now. I found this cordless one which is perfect for me. So portable. No worries about dogs chewing on the cord. We charge it after most every use, we havenât had any problems with the battery life. Adjustable brightness is a nice option.

I purchased this lamp based on the many positive Verilux reviews. I really like the size, brightness and light color options, and portability of this lamp. This lamp is meant to angle up at your face. This lamp worked for a very short period for us, and there appears to be a defect in the charging mechanism, which seems to be an exception with regards to the high quality of their products, and so they get the benefit of the doubt from me, especially after my great customer service experience. Their customer service in response to my issue – covered under warranty – was fantastic, prompt and exceeded my expectations. It was also great to speak to a rep based in the US. They are sending out a new lamp to me at no additional charge and I cannot wait to use it.

Update: one month in and the light flickers at max brightnessI got this because itâs one of the only battery powered lights and seemed like a convenient way to use light therapy in different rooms. Wrong. Even though it looks like they put time in the design, the usability is awful. Shockingly bad.1) brightness and color are controlled with smooth touch buttons that you canât feel so have fun fumbling around with those while getting blinded. Is also very easy to accidentally change those settings if youâre moving the light around.2) if you take it off the stand you literally canât stand it up because itâs a bowl shaped. You need to prop it up with a towel or something soft. Or use the stand thatâs detachable for no reason.3) so leave the stand on you say? That would make sense but in order to unplug the power you literally have to remove the stand. And where are you going to prop it up while you use two hands to remove the stand? Better have a towel ready or put it on the floor. Why does this have to be complicated?4) âso what itâs a pain, surely the battery will last a few days!âNope. It can go for hours at the lowest setting but at the highest (10k which is the minimal effective brightness for light therapy) itâll only last 30 mins. So if you have any intention on using the light without a cord you will have to wrestle with the cord, stand, accidentally hitting buttons. every. single.At the end of the day, you might just leave it plugged in in the same spot to avoid the hassle. But you can do that with a light thatâs a quarter the price.Iâm not sure whatâs more depressing, my winter blues or the fact that someone got paid to design this thing.

Touch buttons are terrible
I love the lamp and it has worked to improve my ability to stay awake and reduced my SAD symptoms. However the quality is poor for the price. The main issue Iâve had is the touch buttons for the brightness and timer. They donât work well. The instructions for the timer are a bit odd and even after following them exactly it still doesnât work or take the correct timer value. The battery also only can last about 40 mins which is ok, but I was expecting longer. I exchanged my first lamp for a replacement assuming it was a quality control issue, but the new lamp is exactly the same. Sometimes the brightness or color settings will just start cycling through on its own several minutes into the session. Very frustrating. Put real buttons on the next model.

More than just a Happy Light
My friend suggested a seasonal light to me. I live in a very rainy climate during the winter months. We wonât see the sun for weeks. It wears on me every year. Iâve always pushed through that last month before the sun starts to come out again and the days start to get longer. She said her light helps with low energy and mood. Exactly what I needed. After lots of research I landed on the Verilux brand. Others had great reviews but I wanted something versatile to go with my lifestyle in the home.The Happy Light Halo checked all these boxes.-I am able to move it around room to room with ease. The cord free feature is awesome.-Share it with other family members in the house.-It is user friendly and very adjustable, the magnetic base design is awesome.-All the light settings are great and easy to use.-Doubles as a project light or a flashlight to look for things ;)The only feature that could use some tweaking is the timer.As far as my mood, it is still too early to tell but it definitely helps jump start my brain on the dark gray mornings.Hope this review helps someone trying to decide between the lights.

I loved my entire experience in purchasing this full spectrum light. I believe it’s the owner who picks up the phone when you call, though I’m not sure.In any case, the gentleman who answered my call answered every question I asked. Customer service grade = 100%.It’s a relatively large 1/2 sphere with a novel and visually appealing design. Inside the lamp is a strong magnet that together with the magnet in the stand creates a very steady.Unlike any other light, it runs on rechargeable batteries, so you never have to be tethered to the wall.It is bright, cool to the touch and stabilizes my mood.I can’t say enough about this product. Total green light to buy!!

Works as described. Does it really help with my circadian rhythm? Apparently! The light is bright and effective. As others have mention, there is zero grip on the light itself and the surface is convex and layered (very slippery) I haven’t dropped it but I’m scared of what happens to it if I do!

Do not buy this lamp. I bought it for the portability (cordless), but it is big and awkward. It is smooth (likely easy to drop) and way too big to carry with you travelling. Beyond that, it does not work. The charge lasts less than 10 minutes, and the 10- 60-minute timer function does not work.This product is not eligible for return or refund. I am not able to contact anyone regarding the defective lamp because Amazon customer service does not exist, and every time I go through the online “get help” process, I am literally clicking prompts that bring me back to the beginning of the process.
