Feels a little cheap, but better than an oral thermometer
I grew up having to hold an uncomfortably sharp metal probe under my tongue for 30 seconds to check whether I had a fever. By comparison this is revolutionary. It reads immediately, and removes comfort and sanitation issues by being contactless. My only gripe is that the construction feels pretty cheap, more like a toy than a proper piece of equipment. That said, its performance has seemed pretty accurate thus far.

Donât trust it
I bought this based on various reviews. I donât think itâs remotely accurate. My son had a temp of 105 according to this. We gave him meds and went to urgent care. They had his temp as 99.5. The next day his temp was 100 all day. Today itâs back up to 105 according to this piece of garbage. Went to pediatrician and they said 100. Returning it.

Very accurate read
This is one of the most accurate thermometers weâve owned. Easy to use and no fuss for small kids. Just a quick second to the forehead or behind the ear and it gives the reading. It will start beeping and screen will turn red for fever, otherwise the screen just lights up normally for regular temperature.

1. It doesn’t work when the environment is too cold, like less than 18.2. You cannot change the unit of measurement and for it to remember the change, ie, you have to change it each time you use it.
