Works like a charm
Package was delivered today and I couldn’t wait to put it together. The assembly was easy peasey! No tools required and the directions were simple to follow. I tucked the bar under the sofa and my elderly mother loves it. She’s so happy to have some assistance when getting up from the sofa. The unit is adjustable and I was able to select just the right width and height for the unit itself and the handles. I definitely recommend this for a anyone who needs a boost getting up from a seated position.

Great Invention for my wife!
Sturdy, strong and easily assembled. This permits my wife to sit in her favorite chair after her surgery and she is able to stand up getting out of the chair seemingly easily. Before this purchase she was wheel chair bound and uncomfortable. No longer!

A perfect helper
My wife is at home recovering from hip-replacement surgery. There are few chairs in the house that are easy to get in and out of. The couch is the best option once she’s sitting, but sitting down and getting up were problematic.We found this device and thought we’d give it a try. It was a game changer for us! It is super sturdy and gives her the perfect grip to lower herself down and push herself up. The bars disappear into the cushions and folds so they don’t bother her while she’s sitting down. With this helper in place, she has regained a little more independence and another place to sit comfortably while she recovers.

One of the bars broke, after several months of use
Loved it until one handlebar broke.My husband was pretty good at breaking things. To clarify, he’d sometimes put a lot of pressure on things that I wouldn’t have put so much pressure on. Sometimes it was hard to know if they broke because he was just a big guy and his first reaction if something seemed stuck was to push harder, vs. just backing off and trying to figure out what is causing the problem — which would be my first reaction to a stuck thing. So we had a a broken dishwasher handle, a broken chair handle, broken recliner leg rests, and then this thing. Maybe some of those items weren’t made very well, but I never had so many things break when I was single. So, I think the breakage could have been partly his fault.BUT … this thing is designed to help people with mobility issues.It really shouldn’t have broken, even with Mr. Clumsy using it.That’s why I’m only giving it 3 stars.We had gotten good use out of it for maybe 4 months, though, before it broke. So I didn’t try to contact the manufacturer or anything. And during those 4 months or so, Mr. Clumsy loved it! It did make it much easier for him to get up from the couch.
