Broken promises.
I am owner of a Whoop 4.0 and live the device and software. One of the biggest selling point to me was, as mentioned in pretty much every YouTube review I watched that whenever a hardware update drops, the new device would come at no cost and would be included in the $239 annual membership. That was one of the reasons I went with whoop and not an ours ring. Now 5.0 is out and I was excited to upgrade, only to see that they charge $49 in addition to the $239 I had to pay.I am highly disappointed and will most likely not renew my membership if no solution is offered.

Solid hardware/software, but Whoops needs to focus on taking care of current members as a priority.
It would be a five star rating had the company not mislead existing customers and were honest about “upgrade” costs. Price of the product with a 12 month extension now waves the $50 cost of the upgrade from the 4.0. I had an existing 6-7 months on my membership.I’m hoping member out-lash will help the company focus more on customer satisfaction (customer service) over hard/rigid pricing. Another problem with the pricing side of the device is the hard push on the subscription model and locking customers in with no flexibility. This doesn’t build customer/consumer loyalty/confidence. The device itself, and software are great products. Unfortunately, I will have to order more straps since the 4.0 ones will not fit the 5.0I expressed my disappointment to Whoop and CS offset the $50 up-charge in “good faith” by giving me a credit towards accessories/clothing in my Whoop account. I appreciated that as it was unexpected. It took them about 24hrs to respond to me through Faceb00k. Loyal customers want a considerate/loyal/thoughtful company that allows them to feel supported when issues/concerns arise… It causes hesitation for people to enter into the ecosystem/community. Word of mouth goes a long way for when it comes to having a positive experience with a company that requires an extensive and expensive financial commitment. I appreciate the timely communication and them offering something back due to the concerns I expressed. I also own an Oura ring and their CS has been amazing valuing existing and foreseeable members.I am an existing Whoop 4.0 member. I’ve had the product for around a year in a half. Purchasing my Whoop through Amazon was pretty seamless. I opted for Amazon due to unknown shipping times through Whoop’s website, spotty customer service at times, and a building resentment that I may not stay a member because of how they treat customers. Also, the return policy with Amazon had I had any further issues with the Company. When I paired the 5.0 to the whoop app on my phone the membership time was automatically increased 12 months and the new module paired seamlessly. I got a notification through the app after pairing the 5.0 that my 12 months was added to my remaining membership time of 6 months. I was concerned that being an existing member I may not be able to purchase the device through Amazon… For those already members, I assume you shouldn’t have any issues either. In summary, I did not pay any extra for the updated device. I did pay for an additional 12 months, which I had not planned for initially due to Whoop going back on their word. Seems like they are responding positively to upset customers such as myself. I received the Whoop 5.0 next day shipping without issue from Amazon.

Non existent customer service
Product seems ok but customer support is non existent. Would not recommend.
Parker Cardenas –
Terrible company decisions and over priced
Why do I have to pay 50 dollars or renew my membership just to get something with very minimal upgrades and looks the exact same, I do have to say I did upgrade because I have more than 9 months left on my current subscription and donât want the drawbacks of keeping the 4.0. But at the same time I was promised when buying this and not just promised but I am paying 239 plus yearly not including the bands that will be basically needed due to wear and tear over time just to have to spend at least 50 dollars when it should be included!!! I am so upset and wish I just got a oura ring, On whoops website if you use the way back feature it mentions free hardware upgrades not sure where that promise went but ok? I am not the only one with this issue as a matter of fact whoops whole community is getting disgusted with this. Whoop is just losing their biggest supporters!

Bought this expecting a quicker setup with prepaid membership. Unfortunately it didnât work, 24 hours with it and the app keeps showing that I have to pay in order to activate the strap. Disappointing
