It’s so intuitive and user friendly it’s great for beginners! To use it you simply have to extend the temperature prong and it instantly turns on and reads the ambient temperature. Inserting it into a cut of meat provides an instant read as well. My very expensive thermometer broke after a few uses, so I purchased this one as a quick, cheap and temporary replacement for Christmas dinner. Waterproof, digital readout, and takes triple A batteries, which came with it. I highly recommend this thermometer if you want a simple and straightforward, cheap price but high quality, thermometer.
