a really helpfull tool for my wife. Getting upi from a recliner or sofa is much easier for her now.
It was always a cringe worthy experience watching her get up from a sofa or recliner and then grab her walker and be safe doing this. Now I can rest assured that it is a much safer thing for her to do now with this couch cane.

Very flimsy and crooked
This product is very flimsy and has some definite design flaws. It was easy to put together but upon completion the arms did not feel very stable and the pads on the bottom really don’t offer enough surface area to resist sinking into my sofa, which is a solid type of cushion. The brackets that tighten to allow the arms to fold for storage have wing nuts to tighten and lock the arms in place. The wing nuts are. On the inside and poke into you as you sit, a major flaw in the design.I was able to make some modifications that make it more stable and comfortable but really can’t recommend this product.

Unstable, but useable
The product is poorly made. There is play in the arms – about 1/2â in each direction – as there is nothing to screw the stabilizing screw into – although the instructions show that there are two holes in the tube, there is only one. I contacted the seller and their reply was âPush the plastic ring down until it contacts the metal button – the step is useless.â The product is useable, but be careful!

Good idea weak materials
The assist was easy to assemble and looked great. But it bent out of shape the second day under my 200 pounds. Maybe for someone lighter. I wish it had worked better.
