Not quite perfect⦠but close enough!
Original review: I really want to love this water bottle, but I just canât. To be fair, my use-case is slightly different than what itâs advertised for. The tap water where I live is gross and chemically, so I only drink filtered water. I have a âzero waterâ filter at home that I love, but I got tired of carrying around a giant jug of water every day. Then I saw this and figured that the ability to filter water anywhere was worth the price premium. The pros: it does filter water. Pretty easily too. It doesnât taste as good as the water from my filter at home, but itâs probably 90% as good and thatâs fine with me. Itâs also constructed nicely and feels solid and rugged in the hand. Swapping filters is also easy, and the one way valve that allows me to add sports drink powder without damaging the filter is a pretty smart feature. The cons: this might seem nitpicky to most, but it bothers me that the cap for the drinking spout doesnât have anything attaching it to the lid. So if you were using this outdoors (which is the use itâs advertised for) and you accidentally drop the cap and lose it, then you completely lose the ability to seal it. You also canât open and drink from the bottle with one hand because thereâs nothing holding the cap on. This seems like such an unnecessary problem for a premium bottle like this. Also it leaks… Kinda. You HAVE to keep it right side up at all times, because if you lay it on its side then it leaks water. Which means you canât just toss it in your bag or on the car seat without getting everything wet. Basically when you put water in the outer cup and then press the inner cup down to filter it, thereâs still some water left over in the outer cup. Iâm not sure if this was done intentionally so that the filter doesnât get crushed/cracked by pushing too hard, or if itâs a limitation of the filter itself, but thereâs always about 1-2 ounces of dirty water left in the outer cup. Thereâs a small seal around the top of the inner cup to prevent that water from seeping out when the bottle is on its side, but itâs not effective. So whenever I filter water, I then immediately remove the inner cup and dump out the excess dirty water and put the inner cup back in, which solves that problem. But I have to completely remove the drinking cap to allow the pressure to equalize, again increasing the risk of losing the cap.So overall, Iâm probably still going to use this bottle all the time to have access to clean water. Because Iâd rather deal with these minor inconveniences than have to carry around a large jug all the time. But if I ever lose the cap Iâm going to be furious. Because having to spend another $90 on a new bottle because a $1 piece fell off is going to be a tough pill to swallow. Also itâs really tall, so I canât put it in the cup holders in my car because then it blocks the shifter (itâs a manual transmission). Iâm not dinging this product for that though because thatâs a specifically âmeâ problem. Just something to note.Edit: my original review was after about 4-5 days of use. Itâs been another week or so since then and the leaking issue has gone away. Iâm not sure if it just needed to break in or if I was doing it wrong at first, but itâs all good now. I still wish that the drinking cap was attached to the bottle, but I donât think it bothers me enough to knock off a star. Maybe itâs like a 4.5 now, but Iâll round up.Also the taste has improved over the last couple weeks, and I can now have tasty clean water everywhere!

Takes all nasty water taste away!
Worth it’s weight in gold! Whenever I travel to my brother’s house their water is so yucky, full of minerals smells and tastes like Sulphur:/ I drink so many bottles of water and the waste and the microplastic is the worst. This took out ALL the nasty flavor and smell. Im seriously impressed!

Missing drink cap
I got my first ultra press just as the company was switching the lid to a drink through. It has been great. So when I saw I could get another ultra press at a mark down and with a drink through lid I didn’t hesitate. I even got it a day early. So why only four stars? I opened the package and immediately realized that the drink cap was missing. I searched the entire package thinking maybe it just came off in transit. Nope. Rather than deal with another amazon return I simply went to the grayle website and ordered a replacement directly from the company. I knocked a star off hoping that grayle would notice and complain to amazon, because we all know it doesn’t do any good for us to complain to amazon.Grayle might want to think about putting the loose drink cap inside the bottle so amazon can’t loose it.

Great design. Super easy to use.
This is a great product! I used it for 10 days in Mexico. I easily filtered tap water, avoided travelers diarrhea, and didnât have to buy & throw away a hundred plastic bottles. Other reviewers said it was hard to push down. Granted, I was not filtering swamp water, but over 10 days of use refilling water bottles for multiple people, multiple times per day, I never had any trouble pressing the water through the filter. Other reviewers also mentioned it overflowing. Yup, it will do that if you fill it above the fill line! This was a perfect size for carrying in my fanny pack. I even like the color!

Worth every penny
Used throughout Peru and Ecuador on a trip and we had plenty of delicious, safe water to enjoy. We did use additional bottles for water storage.

Good for travel
So used this in Morocco. unfortunately, still had a little bit of an issue when I wasn’t paying attention that there was ice in a drink at a restaurant, but up until then this worked nicely so I wasn’t always having to buy water and was able to use to filtered water for brushing teeth and such. It is a bit heavy for a water bottle. I often would filter through this and then poor into another thinner lighter water bottle that held more. For those who have a hard time pressing the filter down. Tip: Keep the cap off or at least the top open. Cap off is better. When it gets hard let it sit for a few seconds so water has time to go through the filter and then press the rest of the way down before adding the cap back on.

Bought for multi peak hikes in the Mourne Mountains where we have plenty of fresh water sources to top up. Lightens the load when out on summer day hikes and gives us that peace of mind that we won’t run out of water or get sick from drinking fresh mountain water. Love the colours choices. Bought one for my husband and one for myself.

Se purifica muy rápido sin tanto esfuerzo, me gusta que el filtro es intercambiable y la botella ligera para no sumar más peso en los viajes de larga caminata

The bottle arrived without a lid, rendering it useless. Had to return it. I subsequently bought one from a retail store and found it to do everything I’d hoped. Would have rated it 5+ stars if it had have been shipped with lid/cap.

One of the kids (23) travelled around Australia and Fiji for 3 months. She used this bottle every day, sometimes as a standard water bottle. When she lived with in a Fijian family in a village, she filled the bottle from the local rivers and streams using the bottle’s push down filter system. Katie pushed and drank. All the others in her party used trendy/fashionable pieces of kit. They had to wait for their filter systems to work. Katie was the only member of her group who avoided being ill. We can’t recommend this bottle strongly enough. Still looks like new.
