As for support, it’s outstanding. My back is broken at the L4-L5 & this support definitely helps me stay on my feet longer reducing my pain a bit. But I noticed each time I took it off my lower shirt & upper back of my pants were wet from sweating under it. Since it helps I continued to wear it each day. Now I have an itchy rash on my back under where I have been wearing it. It isn’t breathable at all. One of the plastic stays wore through the fabric & started sticking out. Will not buy again. I bought a different one with aluminum stays and it’s much better. Holds your back better & you don’t sweat under it.

The side straps allow you tighten it as tight as you need it.This is my first back support brace and it works for me and my husband has been using a back brace and said it’s one of the best so far.
