Brilliant brace; runs REALLY small for anyone with sturdy thighs
First off, this is a really amazing knee brace—and it’s a steal at the under-$20 price I paid. Even though I’ve been off of hockey for nearly three weeks with a knee sprain, I was able to skate without discomfort with even the “Moderate” level support. I am excited to get back to playing this week . . . after I receive the next size up in the mail.I had previously ordered another very well-reviewed hinged brace on Amazon, and found that the fit was extremely loose. So I measured carefully for this one, and went with the smallest size category I fit in.All I can say is that whoever designed this brace seems to have had runners in mind, not hockey players (and probably not curvy women in any sport)! To explain: hockey players have little calf development, but massive thighs. Even as a consistent rec-level player, I definitely can see this imbalance in my own legs. I could hardly get the brace onto my leg at all in the recommended “Small,” but even when I moved up to “Medium,” I had to struggle mightily to get the brace up over my knee.I think I’m likely to end up in a “Large” size brace even though I’m only a medium-sized female. So I recommend ordering one or two sizes up if you have any muscle development in your thighs—and seeking another brace if you’re actually a large person.

One of the best knee braces I’ve tried out of a dozen or so
I just put this brace on, so it hasn’t gone through a ton of use yet, but normally I’d already have concluded that I hate a brace by now. I have a hypermobility disorder and my patella doesn’t track correctly (and gots both ways, so a j-brace won’t work), and my fibula subluxes, so I either need a brace that I can fit something else under for that or that has a strap right under the head of the fibula. This one’s straps might work, if not I don’t think I’ll have a problem fitting something under for my fibula.Depending on what you need, there might be better options, but I think this is the best for ppl who want adjustable compression, patella support, and good side support/hinges. It’s also very affordable, which most aren’t. I prefer this brace to $100+ braces I’ve tried. My biggest complaint is that the Velcro will tear apart the stretchy material that most of the brace touching your skin is made of, so you have to be super careful to only keep it where it is supposed to go.

    Very good and light weight
I have 2 other Shock Doctor knee braces that are of the hinged type. Had interior meniscus op 1.5 years ago and I am 52 years old still playing a good bit of tennis and golf. This is the Ultra Knit Knee Support brace as I am now to a point where I wanted to reduce the amount of bracing to help my knee continue to get back to full strength and maybe stop using a brace. This brace is of excellent quality and I will say it works well as I have played tennis twice and a round of golf. The support was what I needed and worked well. I did have a little bunching behind the knee with the spandex type material but it did not cause any chaffing or anything. Most likely just something to get used to with a new brace and the last match I played it was 90F and played for 2 hours.I recommend this for anyone looking for a lighter brace and it does work well under pants too.

    Used item
I have not been able to properly evaluate this item because I was sent a used item. This is unacceptable and not okay! I opened the box and see a note that says it did not last 2 weeks! I know every item may not work for everyone, so I am going to try it out but don’t send a used item when I paid for a new item.

Standing 5’5, medium size will not be ideal for active sports use.
I own the shock doctor sleeve identical, just with no Velcro or bars. The simplest form in the same shape and design.I wanted a second one for my right knee (left knee is post ACL) Just for peace of mind and older age haha.I am currently 34, previously a track athlete. 400m 53s, triple jump 41ft, long jump 19.69ft and could grab the rim.I had issues with swollen knees (new) after being able to play again and then even my right knee became effected.I was just hoping to have matching knee braces and buy one more but for $15 I bought two of these for added support. The regular sleeve is $50? Which I thought was weird. The new sleeves with no tension added with the Velcro straps are more snug, perhaps because the bars on it. So I felt a lack of circulation on both legs. Then noticed the bottoms of the bars really pushing into my calves area, which was really frustrating. Mainly due to lateral movement. So I played 3 hours without them and am fine! Mostly thanks to knees over toes guys book (high recommend)It’s nice to have them for perhaps weight training or even RICE for after playing and eventually weening off them and just keeping for a rainy day. They may be okay if you are significantly taller or doing linear (forward and backwards) movements only. If they had it so you could remove the bars I think these would’ve been perfect.Stay healthy and protect your knees friends.

Works good and stays up where it should. I luck out on the sizing, the sizing is on the box but is easily overlooked when ordering.

Me gustó porque las cisagras se le pueden quitar, ya que no necesito todavía ese grado de apoyo, el velcr está muy fuerte y ajustablo suficiente para proteger pero te permite el movimiento
