    Best beginner cookbook
I got this when I was first married nearly 30 years ago and now have given a copy to my college student. It’s a great foolproof first cookbook. Highly recommend!

    Great recipe’s for a beginner
My girlfriends doesn’t cook that much but she’s been wanting to get into it more. So I bought this as a semi joke but also the recipe’s and instructions were wrote in a manner that made it simple to make several things in the book already.

    easy to follow
I got this for my sister for her birthday and she loved it. I took it for a test run before I gave it to her and made some cookies from it. Good ol fashioned chocolate chip and they were SO GOOD. I usually suck at making chocolate chip cookies (dont even know why) but these?????AMAZING.

    I dunno
I bought this for my teenage godson, who really, really can’t cook. He had been very excited to try recipes from this, but his mom did have to call and tell me that he managed to fail at one of the recipes. This might be great for some beginners, but clearly not for my overthinker.

It’s good but be warned it uses American measurements. So maybe give a pass if from the UK

Part of the appeal of cookbooks is the photos that are in them so you know what you’re making and what it should look like. This book skips all photos and just has pages of recipes.I don’t mind this as we live in the era of technology. If I don’t know what a recipe looks like when it’s done, I can consult Google Image in 2 seconds. It has some really great recipes and they have a grading system from very easy to fairly difficult for each recipe so you know in advance before you start if you’re in over your head or not. They are very simple recipes, often classics, which is the whole point to this book as it’s titled for people like me who can burn a pot of water.
